“A hidden gem in Key West - 5 stars on every level”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed October 24, 2013

Our son is stationed in the Coast Guard in Key West, and recommended this restaurant. It's off the madness of Duval Street in a quiet neighborhood tucked behind nicely landscaped grounds. The restaurant is not large, with two dining areas and a nice bar. Lovely atmosphere, elegant but not stuffy. The acoustics are a little harsh, and the restaurant was very loud, but did not interfere with our table conversation. Wine and beer only, but nice selections of fine wines by the glass, and craft beers. The reputation for "the place" to experience tapas is well deserved, and our group of four ordered a total of 8 tapas to share, and each one was perfectly prepared and presented, and came out of the kitchen at a nice pace. The service was attentive but not smothering, and from beginning to end, the experience was 100% 5 start. We will definitely return.

“So Great That We Ate Here Two Out of Our Four Dinners in KW”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed October 23, 2013

My husband and I came here on our first night in Key West, solely because of the reviews on TripAdvisor, and the proximity to our hotel. Since it was a Wednesday, we figured we could get in without a reservation. We did, but it was outside.

I have to say, this place was completely amazing. The service was excellent, but the food was stellar. My husband and I shared a Wedge Salad. Normally, I wouldn't eat one, but it was really large and quite good. Our tappas dishes were brought out with really good timing. Nothing is more annoying than to have all of your tappas brought out at once. Our first night, we had the dates, the Shrimp and Chicken Skewer, the Green Beans and the Short Ribs. All were wonderful, but the Green Beans (with prosciutto and gruyere) and the Short Ribs were the absolute best.

We brought our friends back on Friday night and continued to be amazed by the food and service (same server). We tried the Greek Salad, Carpaccio, Scallops and the Beef Tenderloin, in addition to other items we had tried the previous visit. The Beef Tenderloin was perfect.

I hope this place continues to do well. It is true that it is off the beaten path, but it isn't THAT remote. If you dine outdoors, you MAY hear the family across the street arguing on their back porch. That's just part of the atmosphere!

“Best Ceviche Ever!”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed October 22, 2013

I was in Key West today for sales calls with my distributor rep. Luckily, he took me for my first visit to Santiago's Bodega. We ordered 4 plates. Everything came out, perfectly timed. While all the dishes were excellent, especially the Croquetas, what really impressed me was our Yellowtail Ceviche with Mango and Avocado. It had to be the freshest ceviche ever! Highly recommend this place.

“Excellent Food with Friends!”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed October 22, 2013

Seven of us went to Santiago's, all of us Key West residents or regular visitors. We find that this restaurant is VERY popular with people who live and work in Key West. Santiago's is a tapas place, meaning one orders from an extensive menu offering small plates of absolutely fabulous fare! We ordered a bottle of Alexander Valley Cabernet because one of us owns a wine shop and recommended it. Fantastic choice. We shared a few bottles throughout the evening. Dishes we shared included seasoned grouper, filet mignon with blue cheese topping, dates stuffed with cheese and wrapped in prosciutto, barbeque ribs, huge delicious Greek salad, grilled scallops, and did I say some Alex Valley cab???? We capped off the meal with their homemade bread pudding with caramel bourbon sauce!
This restaurant offers some of the most amazing, flavorful foods anywhere I've been. Strongly recommend it!

“Great Tapas!”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed October 22, 2013

Everyone we talked to in Key West recommended this place. So we did. It was very good. The sparkling sangria was great. The salad was huge. Actually the portions for tapas were quite large. The rack of lamb was incredible. The spicy artichoke heart special was good too. Service was friendly and the vibe of the place was comfortable and relaxed. If we are ever in Key West I would definetly go back!
