“My best meal in Key West”
Reviewed October 15, 2012

I visited this restaurant on a Monday night with no reservations. They had room, and took us immediately. We were a party of three, and ordered 10 various plates. Each plate given to us was better than the last. All topped off with some very fine sangria. The host who seated us was nice, and the waitstaff was attentive but not overwhelming. I will be back in town towards the end of October and hope to visit here again. This time with a reservation, since it looks as though they fill up every night.

“fabulous tapas”
Reviewed October 14, 2012

loved the atmosphere, good choice of wines by the glass, plus sangria. Cream of mushroom soup to die for. Every tapas we ordered was wonderful. Save room for the bread pudding for dessert

“Ole'!”
Reviewed October 14, 2012

Hit this restaurant early in a visit to Key West, because you will want to go back! We have eaten at Santiago's Bodega every year since they first opened, and the key to their success is quality and consistency. I don't think there is anything on their menu that is not downright excellent in flavor and presentation. The nightly specials are a treat as well. Our favorite tapas are the beef tenderloin with blue cheese, pinchos morunos, patatas bravas, goat cheese stuffed dates, and any salad. If there is any criticism at all, I'd say the Sangria is too sweet (but I'm used to real Spanish sangria from living there for many years). Prices are reasonable as long as you don't go overboard and order too many tapas. Four of us stuffed ourselves and enjoyed a pitcher of Sangria for around $100. Great value for what you get, small, intimate atmosphere. Look forward to going back!

“Above average food, below average service”
Reviewed October 12, 2012

It's possible we just got a mediocre waiter on our visit, because I saw numerous obviously local customers and not just tourists. None of the tables around us we're particularly happy with the service (all the same waiter). My wife and I are somewhat snobbish when it comes to tapas, and this place had some very good choices (the specials, for example), and some very average items as well (notably the desserts). Key West has some amazing local dives with much better food you can't get anywhere else. Would recommend visiting them first.
