“Yoko Ono didn't make the opening”
Reviewed May 27, 2013

The guy/enthusiast/receptionist told us that Yoko got double booked. His attitude and what he and his mates have achieved here dictate that you must visit. It's a tranquil oasis of nature in a war structure! I never met John Lennon but if you sing the words of Imagine to yourself whilst walking round this place you know he would approve.
An iguana walked past us as we got near the beach fence. Hemminway's house has its six toed cats but this place has the most beautiful butterflies.
They don't charge entry but its worth anything you an afford.

“Hidden Gardens”
Reviewed May 23, 2013

One of my biggest surprises in Key West. The gardens are unique and fragrant. All volunteers so give a donation!

“A Hidden Gem”
Reviewed May 21, 2013

This Tower is part of the Key West Botanical garden, run by the Key West Garden Club. If you are doing a beach walk or bike ride, this a terrific place to explore.

“Serene setting on the water”
Reviewed May 21, 2013

A little bit of West Martello Tower history along with botanical gardens totally run by volunteers. Volunteer that greeted us was very friendly and informative. Gardens eventually take you to the waterfront - a great place to enjoy the view and relax for a bit to get away from the busyness of Key West. Located near Higgs Beach. No fee but donations are accepted.
