My wife and I just returned from a long weekend in Key West. We were a bit concerned about some of the negative comments which mostly focused on the ongoing renovations. During our stay we noticed some things, like the hallway rugs, needed to be done but it never took away from the pleasant weekend.
We checked in and got a room overlooking the airconditioning units. We asked to change rooms and they gave us one with a great view. Very willing to help out. I guess if your the last to check-in you get the less attractive view.
The location is great. From the outside lounge you have a great view of the sunset. (If a cruise ship is docked there, which it wasn't for 3 of the 4 days, some of the view is blocked) You are also near the beginning of Duval street and can walk everywhere.
The food in the restaurant is good and well priced. $12 for eggs benedict with a side of pancakes for breakfast.
Kudos for Andrew, who on check out offered to load our bags in the car instead of storing them so we can hang at the pool.
All in all better than we thought.More
