Great location right next to Mallory square and the North end of Duval. Lots of parking with their own garage.

Room was not made until almost 5pm and was quite sloppy.

The pool area is great - but the pool is salt water and about 95 degrees - so don't expect too refreshing.

There were many things that needed to be repaired in our room, and the hotel needs an update.

My husband and I are Starwood Preferred members and try to stay at one of its properties when available. We reserved an oceanfront room for a full week and are entitled to an upgrade if it's available at the time of check in. First, there was no bellman available. Second, there was only one person at the check-in desk to help the more than 10 guests who had arrived on the same plane (there are only a handful of planes that arrive into Key West each day, so scheduling help during those times is easily calculated). She was frazzled to begin with but even more so when I asked about our entitled upgrade. She determined that we were a "problem" because we were staying "so long." I must be mistaken when I thought that hotels actually wanted long-term guests, especially at a resort destination such as Key West. She pointed us in the general direction of our room, located in an adjacent building, and again, was offered no help with our luggage. I should point out that while this seems a bit picky, the front desk help was dressed in a casual shirt and pants. I expect to see that at the Comfort Inn, but at the Westin, I expect something more professional, even in a resort town such as Key West. Our room was tiny and located on the first floor, with the busy pier directly in front of us. We would have been unable to open our sliding doors or draperies during any time of the day or night. Again, not the best room for someone staying for an entire week. We immediately expressed our displeasure and were told that there was nothing they could do, and to "go ahead and call corporate, if that's what we wanted to do." We did so and soon after heard from the General Manager, who did have several options after all that were all more suitable. All the rooms we saw needed updating. Early in the week, the concierge made reservations for us to dine at Latitudes, the Westin's fine dining restaurant, located on Sunset Key. I assumed the concierge had handled everything, including obtaining a lovely table on the beach near the water. But noooo. We were seated inside. Of course, we were the only ones inside, and again, the hostess could do nothing to change our seating "at this late date". "Had we expressed our interest in sitting at a lovely oceanside table, we would have had to have done that at the time of booking. My point is this. The ambiance and the service are poor at best. The only thing this Westin has going for it, is the location on the pier and near Duval Street. Key West itself is great!! Fun, diverse, lots to do, or little to do, depending on your mood. I recommend looking into Casa Marina, a Waldorf Astoria hotel, or the Inn at key West.

Thank you for your review. As a Westin, we are inspected continually by Starwood to make sure that we are meeting brand standards and we are proud that each time we have met requirements for Westin. Additionally, all of our guestrooms have been renovated within the past 3 years.

When making reservations at Latitudes, if you would specifically like an outside patio or beachfront table, this request needs to be put into your reservation (it is only a request, but we try to accommodate the best we can). We cannot assume that you would like an outside table, especially in warmer months, and priority is given to those that have the request in their reservation.

As we do with all reviews, we have passed this review along to all management and staff for training and improvement. Thank you for helping to make us a better resort!

Typical Us style resort, nothing more and nothing less you would expect from a Westin property in the Us.
We stayed in a one bedroom suite with separate sitting area and a kitchenette. We had a balcony and ocean view. You have to stock your minibar as they dont supply drinks but that s no issue as the shop is located just at the main entrance by the lifts.
Check in was quick and luggage was delivered to ou room within minutes.
Room was clean, common areas would deserve a bit more of cleaning but overall it was fine.
Toiletries were replaced daily.
Staff was courteous and efficient. Wifi is free in your room.
The pool is small and water looks dirty. Having said that in the two hours I spent there I was the only one who showered before taking a swim, so you cant blame the hotel, but the  uncivilized guests and their sun tan lotions. Clean towels were there but I did not see pool attendants asking you if you needed a drink.
I would not stay in one of the rooms overlooking the pool, it looks like they lack of privacy and forget a nap in the afternoon with the kids playing around.
The best feature of the hotel is its location. It s perfectly located two minutes from Duval St the centre of all the action but not in the middle of the chaos. So you can party hard but when you are back in the room you can have a decent sleep.
All things considered I definitely think it s the place to stay in Key West and I would return here.

t's rated way to generous by travel sites, and that frustrates me. I booked the room and payed plenty for it, and expected something good, but didn't get that at all.

We arrived, check in was fine, and we proceeded to our room. The elevator was dirty, the hall way was dirty, but we were both keeping a good attitude and let it go. The room had two pillows on a king bed, two towels, and that was it. The drawers were dirty, the floor was not vacuumed, it was literally as though they just made a bed after the other people left and then moved us right in there. We still let it go...

That night at about ten, my wife was taking a shower so I was going to slide the bench in the room over and visit with her, when I moved it I found food and a used toilet paper roll! This was the last straw. I called and asked a manager to come up, she did right away, I told her to find me another room, it was late, we wanted to rest, and it had better be clean. I couldn't get a refund she informed me, because I used a third party site to book the room. I was leaving if they said that was the room I had to stay in.

I was moved two doors down, it seemed made up, so we went to sleep. I awoke the next morning and was reading on trip advisor about the hotel, someone four days before described a room with broken toilet paper holder that was just hanging there...my room had that...then they described the ceiling that had a four foot section that was patched and not painted and had stuff hanging down, I looked up, and there it was...they just stuck me in a room someone had complained about that they hadn't even fixed.

This is not being picky, this is wanting your $400 a night! The room was a let down, and this just sent me over again. I went down and told them to fix it, or I was out. Put me in a room, a clean room, that was not under construction, and to clean up the common areas...the place was a $100 a night hotel in an amazing location, and they were just banking on that it seemed. We moved rooms, this was the one we stayed in for the next four days. It was fine, not great, but fine. Lots of spots on walls, little things that they should care to remedy but don't....

The hall and elevator were never not dirty, it made things kind of crummy. The balcony looked over the marina, that was nice. The location is PERFECT! That made it all bearable.

The food was so so, not great, but not bad. The hot tub when we went had no towels and had bush trimmings all over the place, again a simple lack of effort it appeared. We went to the beach they own one day, you have to buy $20 passes per person, and ride a little ferry boat. It was pretty nice, it took an hour and fifteen minutes to get back because the boat no showed (comes once an hour) so we took another boat back over. We had a waiter on the beach, but he bailed in the stay, never even signed a check, he left himself a good tip it seems though, which from what he had done he did deserve, maybe he go hurt or something???

Anyway, the place is in an awesome location, and it has balconies, that's about all I liked about the entire thing. It was not at all worth the cost, not even close. It felt run down and unkept, like nobody had any pride in their job or their work place...except the bellmen, they always seemed friendly, a new guy with braces, he was awesome, always friendly and a great attitude, I wish he ran the place...

I attached one picture, I have lots, I mean to write them a long letter. This one was my favorite because it is right above the sign on the third floor that said something like "starwood preferred guests floor" what a joke! This proves I am not a nag, that the place is kind of gross. Fifteen feet from this photo is a unpainted wall patch, very tacky, and the elevators which were always filthy...in a twenty foot circle I have enough pictures to enlighten any would be traveler to this place.

Room tip: I wouldn't know how to get the best room because after three of them I was still let down
