We only stayed here one night (regrettably), but we were pleased with the ambiance, the quiet, and the well-appointed, up-to-date room. Nice, comfy beds and very quiet -- even in a room overlooking the street. Great shower, too. In the courtyard, by the pool, there's a feeling of seclusion -- yet, the place is right on a busy street (Truman) and only a couple of easy blocks from Duval. Nice breakfast bar, clean pool, friendly and engaged people running the place. Additionally, it's fairly close to the Bight. We walked to the Truman (and back to the Bight) after disembarking from the Key West Express, and for a couple of fit 70-somethings, it was a stimulating and easy trip of (probably) less than a mile. We'll definitely be back.

Room Tip: The rooms back by the pool -- or overlooking the pool -- may be quieter, not sure. But really, our...

Stayed here two days in late October. It''s a charming hotel. Our room was on the small side but well appointed The decor is modern and very tasteful. Beds were comfortable. Pool is a delightful place to hang out. While located on a busy street, most rooms face the interior pool area and ours, even on the street, was relatively quiet during the day and fine at night. It's only a short walk to Duval Street where a lot of the action is. A minimal, though adequate, continental breakfast is served in the pool area. Everything is expensive in Key West but this hotel gives good value for the price/location.

We stayed at The Truman Hotel for 2 nights in October 2013. We arrived early evening and were given a good rate. We had a hotel room with 2 double beds. The room was modern, bathroom was good and there was a small fridge. There was a wardrobe and drawers, otherwise there was not much storage room for bags. The pool is small-medium but plenty big enough. There were wide steps down one end which were good for our 3 year old. Down the other end was a wide seat with jets. Lovely coloured lights in the pool at night. The breakfast was decent, included in the price and it was served pool side. Lots of lounging chairs around pool to relax. Approx 15-20 min walk into downtown area which was fine for us with pushchair. Otherwise, a 5 min drive. Plenty of parking downtown. Reception was very helpful and friendly and the vibe was all very relaxing, with funky music played poolside in the afternoon/early evening. Parking was provided and free. We would certainly stay there again.

We were in Truman hotel for two nights with friends. It was perfect location - eventhough you need to walk a little to get to the bars and to the harbour, the other attractions are close. And the walking distance to the bars was not that long :)
The hotel itself was nice, pool was clean and the athmosphere relaxing. The breakfast was quite simple, and there was not that many tables for the guests. Well you were allowed to take your breakfast to your room, but carrying all with you and if you wanted something more...Well the breakfast wasn't the best part, but acceptable.
Rooms were extremely nice, only thing was, that the AC was blowing quite hard, you were able to adjust the temperature, but the "power" not. And it did blow directly to the beds in our room, which was not that nice.
We can warmly recommend and I would go there again.

If you are looking for a design hotel (but not over the top) that is affordable (but not cheap) and centrally located (but not in the most busy part of town), then this is your hotel. It's a modern, small scale facility with a decent free car park, friendly staff, some huge rooms (I have to admit I was upgraded to a beautiful top floor suite).
I wasn't bothered by the limited seating capacity for breakfast.
The only criticism I can find is ... the fact that some of the lights in my room weren't fully operational.

Room Tip: Top floor rooms

I stayed at this hotel for two nights (this week) with my husband and two sons aged 18 and 10. The hotel staff are very attentive and helpful. I requested a quiet hotel room and we were kindly accommodated.
The beds were Devine!!
The hotel is situated just off Duval Street, far enough to be quiet but close enough to walk a short distance to the restaurants, shops and bars.
We hired bicycles from the 'moped hospital' next door to the hotel, which is a great way to see Key west.
I would highly recommend this hotel to all Key West visitors.

Room Tip: Rooms to the rear of the hotel are quiet. We stayed in room 215 which is on the second floor. The ro...

Will stay there. Again. We enjoyed every aspect of our stay! Clean pool, lots of towels. Helpful staff. Loved the bottled water and chocolates . Nicely remodeled. Complimentary breakfast was good. Close to Duval street and near to 24 hour CVS store. Also near to Subway, for a quick snack.

Room Tip: Some 2nd floor room are not elevator accessible.
