This is a quaint little memorial just off of Higgs beach. There are a lot of great columns with interesting information about the Africans who inhabited the island and of African culture. Worth a stop on your way to the beach,

I enjoyed checking this place out with my nephews. This island is rich in history and this is a definite stop to learn more about what lives were a part of it.
Very nice memorial for those that were/are buried here. Nicely done! Interesting bit of Key West history!
It's a quick stop, but worth doing. The plaques are informative and well done. It's an easy bike ride from the Duval Street area.
The history and the quotations that the plaques around this cemetery have written on them were very informative and had emotional power as well.
Located right next to West Martello and just off Higgs beach, the African Graves site is a touching site dedicated to educating the public about the end of the slave trade, and symbols/sayings that are important to this culture. Definitely stop by here to pay respect. No admission fee, and you can make a day of it by walking out to the end of White St. Pier, visiting West Martello Tower, and Higgs Beach. All free (make donations at West Martello).
