If this place was on the water, it would be on the Food network. And it's not on Duval, Front street or tucked away behind some resort on it's own little island. But on little known margaret street, Michael's sits and waits for appreciative foodies like me to find. If it's warm or rainy, sit inside. If it's nice, sit outside in the lovely garden. Some of the appetizers we had were the oysters rockefeller with artichoke bacon and rich cheese broiled to creamy perfection. Maryland crabcakes were crispy and chunky with lump crab meat. caesar salad was top notch. Cool and crisp romains, buteery crisp croutons with obviosly home made dressing. Michael's stuffed veal chop was amazingly tender and flavor of procutto stuffing worked well with the marsala reduction. Garlic mashed potatoes were addictive. Prime NY strip with the tenderness of almost a tenderloin is difficult to achieve, but Michael's managed it. Only the arrival of a very large loud party prevented us from staying for desert. Service between courses is a little slow, but this is key west. You are on Island time now. Slow down. The wine list is a little short. the addition of a few robust Italian reds, like a Brunello would be nice, but the Napa Cab worked well. Prices are not bad either. I have paid much more for much less. Overall, this is without a doubt, the finest eatery in Key West.
