“Interesting fusion”
Reviewed February 23, 2013

Food is a bit spicy, even more so than noted by waitstaff. Drinks are great and generous (large wine goblet margarita), menu have a very interesting asian fusion in south florida seafood options, colorful, tasty, well prepared. Not exactly budget conscious, but that wasn't expected. Service is very good, dessert selection varied and fresh. Open for dinner only, and reservations are pretty much required, unless you're in a slow season. My appetizer had a ground habanero paste in a tiny dish, and although a lover of hot and spicy, this was beyond belief. Several entrees also have some interesting sauces painted onto the plate, and wait staff will warn you of which ones may set your palate aflame. Well worth the visit, and different than any other restaurant in the area.

“Excellent Meal in a Beautiful Space”
Reviewed February 23, 2013

First of all, Cafe Marquesa is located in a beautiful room with lots of windows out to the street and walls lined with mirrors. Our waitress, Amy, was very helpful in our making decisions about the great offerings on the menu. We settled on the duck and the rack of lamb, both of which were some of the best dishes we have ever had. Everything about this restaurant is outstanding!

“Truly the best”
Reviewed February 22, 2013 via mobile

This was one of our very favorite restaurants. Delicate flavors for the sophisticated gourmet. The key lime Neapolitan was to die for. Wonderful service, delightful atmosphere and fabulous food. If you enjoy fine dining you must try Marquesa! Not sure why they call it "Cafe". It is so much more. Make reservations early if you plan on getting a table during your stay.

“"Cafe" it's not...4 Star it is”
Reviewed February 19, 2013

It was recommended to us by a bartender in our hotel. Tired of sandal shuffling and soggy French Fries, watered drinks and Jimmy Buffet, we yearned for something better....and we got it.
The name Cafe is misleading. It is a high ended restaurant with four start service.Very comfortable and QUIET for a change, no loud music,so I really could hear my wife talk,no out of place music like the Rolling Stones in a French place, no dancing hanging out waiter at your table like you came to visit him,non rushed place with real plates and cutlery.

The food was above great. The wine list was fine as well. A higher ended crowd not wearing thongs nor belching and whooping over a Bud Light sat there and not on top of us either. If I had any complaints at all, I would say they should filter their water but then again who drinks it?

Don't expect a burger menu nor price here and make reservations, we were lucky.

“Key West Finale”
Reviewed February 17, 2013

Whenever we travel and remain in a location for a period of time we select a nice restaurant for our “farewell” dinner. For our return visit to Key West we once again chose the Café Maquesa. As was our previous experience this dinner was a highlight of our dining activities in Key West.

Upon entering the restaurant the Hostess greeted us, checked for our reservation, and quickly seated us at a very nice table. We think it was the same table we had the last time we were at the restaurant. Our server, a cheerful and friendly individual, was promptly at our table. She reviewed for us the specials for the evening and took our beverage selections. After a short period of time she returned with our drinks and then provided us with some time to enjoy them. After awhile she returned to take our entrée selections. My spouse chose the Phyllo Wrapped Black Grouper and I had the Escolar special as entrees. The preparation and presentation of both entrees was exceptional. They were extremely good. The sides of udon noodles and stir fried vegetables with the Escolar were terrific as well. The vegetables were fresh and flavorful and not over cooked. Portions of everything were quite sufficient and everything was served hot. We finished the meal with coffee and a cappuccino. Throughout the evening our server checked on us inquiring if we needed anything or how everything was going. We were given a great opportunity to enjoy our meal in a leisurely fashion; we never were rushed or hurried.

All aspects considered it was one of the best dining experiences we had in Key West this trip as well as our last trip. Definitely put it on your list of restaurants to try.
