Have been through other fire related exhibits and can honestly say the Key West Fire Museum ranks with the best. Luckily for us 3 knowledgable volunteers were on site and eager to take us around the 2 story building. One of them was the retired Chief of Key West - he was not only a bank of information but had personality that made you feel like he was your long lost buddy. The other two gentleman added interesting stories and couldn't have been nicer especcially since we stayed 30 minutes past closing time. As a retired 25 year firefighter, I enjoyed the whole experience and give the retired Captain of the Key West F.D. who started this museum in 98' with a dream & determination huge kudos for a job well done...and it is still a work in progress...will definatly visit next time in town.
