“Beautiful exhibition in former fort”
Reviewed February 17, 2014

My friend and I rented bicycles for a quick trip around the island during a day-stop from a cruise line. We passed the Key West Garden Club and thought it might be worth checking out - it was! Very nice variety of native and exotic plants mixed with sculptures and local art. Beautiful orchids and the fort ruins backdrop made it that much more impressive. We did provide a donation but no admission fee is charged.

“Excellent art and plantings”
Reviewed February 11, 2014

This is a mini-conservatory in an old ruined fort (which gives excellent brick backdrops to the plantings) just off the beach on the southwest side of Key West. Art is scattered throughout. Free, though they accept donations. We were very happy we stumbled across it. Lots of plants in bloom in late January.

“a walk in the garden”
Reviewed February 9, 2014

This is a free botanical delight. A wide assortment of orchids that can dazzle you. A really pretty setting in an old fort.

“Beautiful! Especially if you're a plant lover!”
Reviewed February 8, 2014

A quick walk from Higgs beach. Worth the time to walk around and appreciate the plants, trees and shrubs. Don't miss the orchids, my favorite!

“Beautiful”
Reviewed February 4, 2014

Absolutely beautiful grounds maintained by a staff of volunteers. There is no admission charge, but donations are accepted and used to maintain the property. We were amazed by the variety of plants from all over the world - even cactus! The setting is just wonderful, and as you stroll through the grounds, you see the time and effort these folks take. It is well worth a stop to see such beauty.
