We just returned from spending 8 glorious nights at the Atlantis House. The Master Suite was just perfect with all of the high quality amenities. The location of the Atlantis House is great...across the street from a small beach, walking distance to several great restaurants and away from all the "partying" in the "downtown" area of Key West. Yet it is close enough to everything and using the provided bikes makes it even more convenient. The relaxing garden area is so peaceful and quiet and Captain Steve takes impeccable care of all the exotic plants. We did the eco/snorkel trip with Captain Steve and Kayla and it was some of the best snorkeling we have ever done. After snorkeling, we went on to Boca Grande and spent a few hours there, walking around with Captain Steve who shared with us his knowledge of the island, which was very informative. It was just a perfect day! Captain Steve and Kayla are the most friendliest and helpful people. You can tell that they really love what they do. One could spend much more to stay at a crowded resort {in a room 1/3 of the size} or closer to all the "action" of Key West, but you would miss out on staying at one of the most wonderful, relaxing places one could stay anywhere...period!! Oh we can't forget Kayla's key lime pie, it is truly the best we have ever had. Of course, Nemo, is the best dog, too. Thank you so much Captain Steve and Kayla for making our vacation in Key West perfect. When we return we will not stay anywhere else.

Room Tip: The Master Suite is very spacious.

We found the Atlantis House by reading reviews here on TA and it absolutely lived up everything we read about it. It is located on the south side of the island, closer to the beaches and further from the busy side of Duval St. It is a one minute walk to Higgs Beach and the White St. Pier and about a 3 minute bike ride to Smathers Beach. The island is so small we were able to ride the bikes (free use for guests) anywhere else we wanted to go pretty easily but the Atlantis House provided a great little get away. The back deck/garden area is absolutely stunning with a great tropical zen like feel with the fountains, wind chimes etc. and a great place to have morning coffee or evening libations. The room itself was very nice and pretty but we probably didn't take full advantage of it since we were in KW to be outside not in our room. There is only one other room there and we were lucky enough that the other couple there was great to visit and hang out with. All four of us went out on the eco trip/ snorkeling trip with Steve and Kayla. That was probably the highlight of our trip. Steve took all of our wishes into account and we went out to both the reef to snorkel, then to Boca Grande to hang out on an uninhabited island for a great walk along a quiet, uncrowded beach. We got incredibly lucky because it had been too windy to snorkel or boat easily for a long time before out trip and the winds resumed the next day. Steve let us know that we had a small window to take advantage of the great boating conditions so we all did, and it was fantastic. It was more like going boating with friends than out on a tourist trip. A couple of last thoughts. There is a trolley stop a street away on White St. for City View Trolley (none of the others have a stop there). We used that several times to get a ride down to the attractions on the other side of the island then took a $10 cab ride home at night. Finally, yes, Kayla's Key Lime Pie is all that.

We stayed here for three nights in March and would return in a minute. You can spend $300 for a $125 hotel room in Key West or opt for real luxury with Capt. Steve and Kayla on a great part KW, a couple blocks from a pretty beach, a great restaurant ("Salute'" -- we ate there three times) and a lovely botanical garden. The Kesslers are terrific hosts and Kayla bakes a memorable Key Lime pie. Free parking, free bikes, quiet surroundings and lovely people to help you find your way around. A great romantic getaway!

Room Tip: Master suite was perfect for a couple. Spacious spa!

We stayed at Atlantis House late March 2014 – what a top notch place! It was our 10 year wedding anniversary and my husband planned the whole trip, secretly!

The Master Suite was beautiful and stocked with high quality amenities (toiletries, towels, bedding, etc). I joked with Kayla & Steve (the owners) about how even the toilet paper was high quality… but it was truly a simple example of how they run their “home”. Everything was very clean and impressive during our 3 night stay.

We enjoyed an organic fruit breakfast in the garden one morning and had a delicious dinner in the dining room – lots of lobster caught by Steve!

Although the “house” is not in the middle of the chaos of Duval Street, you are only minutes away from dining options and the beach. We loved that we were not close to the chaos, but yet it was still walkable for us and definitely a quick bike ride (bikes are provided complimentary).

Some of our best times during our trip were spent just relaxing in the garden - the serenity of the water features and the tropical flowers and plants were just beautiful.

Unfortunately the winds were high during our visit, so we weren’t able to get out on the water. But we didn’t let that disappoint us – we did lots of walking around town… sightseeing and beach time!

This was the first of many trips to the Atlantis House. We cannot wait to go back! This is the perfect place for honeymooners or couples to go… a little piece of paradise IN paradise!

Room Tip: Master suite is beautiful and very relaxing - features an amazing king bed, master tub, double vanities + a seated makeup vanity

My husband and I just returned from a wonderful week stay at Atlantis House. On arriving at the Key West airport Kayla promptly picked us up and pointed out some places of interest on our way to Atlantis house. She then gave us a tour of our two beautiful rooms and enormous bathroom in the Garden Suite. The Garden Suite had everything you could hope for and more. It is beautifully decorated and equipped with a comfortable day bed in a room for relaxing, reading, watching tv or listening to music. Our bedroom had a very comfortable bed with an area that included a sink, microwave, and a fridge. The large bathroom had a beautiful shower area as well as a jacuzzi tub big enough for two. There was also a lovely vanity equipped with soft fluffy towels, shampoos, soaps, bubble bath, hair dryer......and some amazing Turkish Towels. Kayla also showed us where we could find beach chairs, umbrellas, coolers and bikes. We found the bikes to be the perfect way to tour the island as we went everywhere on them. My husband even figured out how to balance two beach chairs while we biked to the beach. There are bike racks everywhere in town and at the beach and also some nice bike lanes and trails. After Kayla's tour she offered us a chilled white wine and told us to let her know when we would like to try her homemade Key Lime pie. Both she and Steve made sure that we had everything we needed including a return trip to the airport. My husband and I travel a lot and have stayed at a number of B&B's. Atlantis House is among the best thanks to the careful attention of it's owners. Last but not least is the amazing garden area. We spent many mornings and evenings enjoying Steve's beautiful landscaping. The garden encloses a beautiful deck area that includes four separate seating areas that are surrounded by rubber trees, palm trees, flowers, hanging orchids, cacti, etc. This is a beautiful and quiet oasis. Since we had traveled to Key West for a wedding we did not have time to do the Eco-tour or fishing trip as we were tied up with family. However the couple that stayed next door to us did both and raved about the wonderful time they had with Steve and Kayla. If you are traveling to Key West this is a wonderful place to stay. Thanks, Steve and Kayla! You are awesome hosts and that Key Lime Pie is the best on the island!!
