My husband and I decided to stay here rather than our usual spot because of the great rate and I had always thought it looked cute on previous trips to Key West. In short, we'll probably never stay anywhere else again... it was absolutely perfect! The staff are super friendly. (Big hugs to Robin from Corey and Robert... and Gregg... you're missing me, right?) The room was lovely. The hotel and grounds are perfectly "Key West." If you want to actually see Key West, you might reconsider staying here because you'll never want to leave the hotel!!

Poolside room was just fine for the $$. Food was excellent, service was very attentive and friendly. We're going back again in March!

I went with my wife for a meal and the cabaret. What a let down. The food was lukewarm and the service was dreadful. The overpriced show was also disappointing.Randy Roberts performed for one hour 5 minutes and at least 10 minutes of that time was whilst he changes and the audience were left to watch videos. His patter was unfunny and we got the impression that it was all a chore to him.AVOID

My husband and I stayed at La Te Da for three days in January. The location was great, on the quiet end of Duval. The reception was welcoming. When we arrive there was a "tea" party happening which was playing great music. We were in a king room on the second floor in the front of the hotel. All in all the hotel was nice.

We have visited Key West many times in the past & have always enjoyed the bars at La Te Da. This year we decided to stay here. This was a huge dissappointment. The room was not very clean when we arrived & all cleaning was cursory. We had to beg reception for toilet paper for 3 days as none were left for us. The telephone remained u/s for our entire 10 night stay. The outdoor lights to the room were also u/s as were the lights up the steps to the room. We weere plagued with mosquitos in the room, killing about 20-30 each day & left covered in bites. All the sun loungers & patio chairs were covered in cat hairs, even though they do not accept pets, their own cats are all over the place, I also observed the cats going into & out of the kitchen. The kitchen doors are wide open all day with no fly screen in place.
Pool towel service was erratic, somedays we got 3 towels, other days only 1. Hot water for showers was random too, we had to have several cold showers. The pool was difficult to use as the shallow end steps are roped off as it borders the restaurant. Access is via very sharp steep steps straight into the deep end & the pool floor is all flakey & needs repairing.
The clothing option sundeck is via a rickety rusty staircase,
where you find the most uninviting sun terrace I have ever seen.
La Te Da tries to be a Bar, Restaurant & a hotel, but whilst the bars are pretty good places to go, the hotel part falls well short of acceptable standards.
I would not recommend this place as a good place to stay.
We were throughly disappointed, many of the issues were raised with hotel reception, but nothing was done about any of them.
Worst place I ever stayed in Key West.
La Te Da hotel is in desperate need of some TLC to bring it up to standard, this means improving hygiene, cleanliness & customer service.
