“1st choice for next time”
Reviewed March 26, 2013

We spent 4 nights in Pegasus’ room 210, beginning St. Patrick’s Day weekend. We hope to return to Key West soon, and we’ll definitely stay there again. Some of the criticisms I’ve read are valid: Our room wasn’t too small, but it had a king bed that took up most of the room. Breakfast was light (but fresh, sufficient, and available when it was supposed to be). The bathroom (no tub) was cramped, with very limited shelf space and only one small towel rack. We didn’t use the parking service, so we can’t comment on that. Our receipt on check-out was just a credit card slip for the total amount, with no itemization of charges. (I haven’t requested a detailed invoice.) On the plus side, service was excellent, no matter who we talked to. The room was cleaned and towels replaced every day. We heard a little street noise from spring breakers occasionally, but nothing kept us awake. The bed was quite comfortable, and we had plenty of really nice pillows. We only used Internet service in the room, and it never failed. We had a microwave and fridge, everything (A/C, lighting, TV) was in working order, and the water pressure was good. There were no drips, stains, mold/mildew, odors, or signs of wear and tear. The elevator operated quickly, although you hardly need it if you’re just on the second floor. The pool and hot tub were both sparkling clean, and towels were always available. We were picked up promptly from the airport and taken back again when we left Key West. We had an afternoon flight home, and we got an OK to hang out on the pool deck until time to leave. No matter the price, you could not find a better location to see the sights; we didn’t need to rent bikes or scooters, much less a car. We spent a good bit of time at Pegasus, having drinks and/or meals on the deck while we watched the show on Duval Street.

Room Tip: My only suggestion would be to ask to see the room before you check in. My husband and I are average...

Nancy,

It's a pleasure to make our guests feel at home! We're so glad to hear that you were comfortable here in Key West, and we truly appreciate the detailed account of your visit. Some of our rooms are a bit on the smaller side, but we are currently in the process of making the necessary updates for our guests, and we hope to resolve this soon. We're thrilled that we were able to show you a five star experience, and that you're looking forward to returning—we look forward to having you back, too! Until then, thank you once again for taking the time to review us.

All the best,
Pegasus Management

The hotel was just about the worst I've stayed in. I stayed for 6 days, the pool was never heated, there were no towels poolside, the tiki bar was either closed or open with no attendant, could never get wi-Fi unless you wanted to sit in hall,in 6days the sheets were never changed and then to top it all off they left a not on one of our doors to come to the office, to tell them there was a mark on one of the towels that they couldn't get out. Oh by the way they are conviently located to Duvalle St.

This hotel is in the heart of the old city right on Duval Street. Many sites, restaurants, and nightlife are in walking distance. The drawback, especially during spring break week is the noise from the street. College students screaming at 4:30 in the morning. The bars close at 4am. The room was clean and comfortable, though the bathroom was small. This happens in older art deco hotels like this one. The room has a fridge and microwave. The breakfast was adequate- cereal, coffee, store bought muffins. This hotel had parking for $10 night which was cheaper than the city meters.

Again the location allowed us to do so many things in 2 days.

Room Tip: Get a room on an indoor hallway. Other rooms are outside by the rooftop pool.

Yes, our location makes it very easy to get out and explore! We're happy to hear that you enjoyed it, but we're sorry that Key West's lively nightlife kept you awake. We can completely understand your frustration, and we wish that we had been able to move you to a different room. Still, we are thrilled that you enjoyed the rest of your stay, and we hope to welcome you back again soon!

Cheers,

We booked this hotel because of it's location to Duval Street. Key West is a walking town so....... Location, location, location. Amenities are basic and rooms are average, but when in Key West......how much time do you spend in your room ??? Would recommend to our friends and would stay again.

We stayed at this hotel, recently, unfortunately during March Break, which we did not realize when we booked downtown.

We were woken up several times in the night, and early morning, with the noises, screams and yells, coming from students on Duval street, so for us, it was not the right hotel to choose. Although the executive room was clean, it lacked a lot in atmosphere and amenities.

The price of the room was one for a 4 or 5 star room, but without the luxuries.

It would be a great room for students, but not for a retired couple.

We are very sorry to hear of your disappointing experience, Daphne. As you know, Key West is a very popular destination for Spring Breakers, but we can completely understand your frustration. We wish that we had been able to move you to a quieter room during your stay, and we apologize. We do everything we can to make our guests feel at home, so we want to make this right. This unique small downtown hotel is in the heart of Key West. It is a friendly and warm place that is very welcoming. The secluded pool side bar is a great place to relax. They should however allow you to charge libations and food to your room. The rooms are well appointed and clean. We did experience a delay in having our room cleaned and had to call the desk to speed up the process. All in all loved the experience and would return.

Glad you felt at home with us! Between our great location and our secluded pool side bar, it sounds like you had a wonderful time here in Key West. Once again, we apologize for the delay in tidying your room, but we're happy that we were able to finish up quickly. Thanks for taking the time to review us, Marc. We hope to welcome you back next time you're in town!

The hotel was located right in the center of all the action. It was also clean, had friendly staff, and was a good price. I would stay here again, and would recommend it to a friend. I also enjoyed the pool and patio area.
