“Worth the journey”
Reviewed February 26, 2013

It was me and my husband. We stayed at "Avalon" for 3 nights and I liked the place more than my husband. The reception staff - very helpful, the room was small but cosy and clean with everything I needed. The airconditioning unit was a bit too noisy but we didn`t really use it as we stayed there in January/February (30.01.-02.02.2013.). Thw weather was gorgeous though.
I liked the breakfast on the porch although I`d love to have something cooked and hot for breakfast. The location is just fine, quiet and within walking distance to all the attractions Key West has to offer. Avalon provides a parking place for its guests which is good.
We travelled a long way to get to Key West (we live in Warsaw, Poland) and I must say it was worth all the effort.

My husband and I stayed four nights in this wonderful inn. We chose it based on TripAdvisor reviews and were not disappointed. Location was great, king room was comfortable, breakfast was plentiful and staff was most helpful. We loved the history of the house and its convenience to so much in Key West. Bonus: enjoying a glass of wine and watching the sun set on the second floor porch. Just the getaway we needed -- we hated to leave!

There were 4 of us who stayed here. The room was beautiful, and the breakfast abundant, fresh and delightful. We loved dining on the veranda. There was a charming pool area, and the manager Yvonne was delightful and full of advice as to where to dine and what to see. I would stay here again in a heartbeat. From the outside, this was one of the prettiest B & B's on the island, and the inside did not disappoint. It was within walking distance to anything you would want to see on Key West, but was in a quiet area. And only 1 block from the Southernmost Point.

Room Tip: The back rooms are quiet

We were pleasantly surprised to be welcomed to the Avalon B & B by its owner a friendly, fashionable British lady. We had read that reception closed at 6 pm and we arrived after a long drive from Miami at 6:05 fearing we would have to fend for ourselves. Not so, while checking in, we were offered iced tea and cookies, then shown to our lovely room on the first floor. Our room was spacious and had no less than 4 large windows with a 5th window in the adjoining bathroom. Throughout our stay all the staff was super pleasant, the hospitality and breakfast high quality and generous. What more can we say.....we loved it!

We stayed at the Avalon this past weekend. It was our 1st trip to Key West and felt we made a great choice. The room was large enough to be comfortable and very clean. Breakfast included enough choices. The location at the end of Duval Street made every destination walkable for us. Best was parking was included if we needed to take our car out. Very enjoyable stay.

just spend three nights at the Avalon Bed and Breakfast, Key West, and it was great. The rooms are very clean and delightful. The breakfast, although not a hot breakfast, was good with lots of choices. the location is great, you can walk everywhere and the location is just one block from the beach and quiet...you can get up early, walk one block and watch the sunrise. the only downside is there is no central air conditioning...our room had an air conditioner in the window and it was noisy. the first night was brothersome but after that we didn't really noticed it..overall, we can a great stay and would definitely stay there again....key west is lovely!

Room Tip: we had a room in front, and it was not noisy and was nice to look out onto the street.

We arrived early about 12:30 and the room was ready. The room was very clean and had beautiful decor. My wife is a light sleeper but she had a good nights sleep for the entire stay. We felt a little nervous about being on Duvall street but it was very quiet perhaps because our room was in the rear of the home
