Coconut Beach Resort

This is our second time at Coconut Beach. I needed to complete some work and couldn't access a wireless connection with my work computer. George allowed me to use his office and his Ethernet connection so I could complete my work.

The renovations are great, kitchen looks good with all new appliances.

Great island location. Easy to get around and lots to do! If you're in the market for a timeshare...this is the one!

We visit Key West just about every year, and Coconut Beach has consistently been our favorite resort for lodging. We can compare against The Galleon, where we owned a unit for several years. While the Galleon is very good, I would describe Coconut Beach as "nearly perfect".

When you arrive, you'll immediately see that the pool and the beachfront are the picture-perfect focal point of the property. Key West is not known for its beaches, and while the sandy beach at Coconut Beach is small, it affords access to about 4,000 square yards of shallow (up to 5 feet), calm Gulf waters with sandy bottom -- no muck!

The lodging units are always well-kept, clean, and spacious. My only complaint might be that laundry (free to guests) is found in a common utility room, not in the guest quarters.

Room Tip: Rooms in the "B" building have the best views, in my opinion.

This is a charming, oceanfront hotel in Key West that's also very close to the action on the Wall Street. It's right next to Louie's back porch, which may be the best restaurant in Key West.
The rooms are clean, and the view is nice. There is a nice pool, hot tub, and a quaint little beach.
No bar, or food service of any sort. However Louies' Back Yard is right next door. Breakfast is a bigger problem. So you will have to walk over to Duval Street, which is a very pleasant walk.
So don't let the desk staff spoil your stay!

From the moment we pulled up to the resort, I knew that we made the right choice. We were greeted by a friendly staff that made it easy and carefree starting at the check in. The grounds were perfectly manicured and the rooms are newly renovated! We had a studio room that had "peek a boo" views of the ocean.... they called them pee a boo, we thought that was an understatement. Our room was facing the Casa Marina and the ocean. Both were fine for us! We have been to Key West several times in the past and have stayed at various hotels, but this is by far our favorite. The resort itself is quite a walk from the Duval Street madness, however, we enjoyed the walk to the Gulf side of the island. If you don't or can't make the walk, the cabs to "the other side" were under $7 a trip. I am glad we were in a quiet area this trip. The pool was nice and warm (maybe even a little too warm for my liking). The beach area was ok. But to be honest, we weren't there for beach/pool. We only tried them our for a short time. We highly recommend this resort/time share location. It far exceeded our expectations!

Room Tip: The rooms facing southeast had the best views! We were happy on the northeast facing side on a corn...

After staying at the Marquesa 10 years ago, I was incredibly reluctant to stay anywhere else. Since we had friends with a time share at Coconut Beach, we decided to stay in the same location.

From the moment we walked to the back of the resort, I knew I would not be sorry. Being that Key West is in the US, and everyone talks about there being no beaches, I forgot how unbelievably tropical a locale we were in. Coconut Beach Resort reminds you!!! The hotel looks like an island oasis with a wonderful in ground pool and separate in ground hot tub. There are amazing ocean views and a small but perfect beach for tanning and swimming. The grounds and suite style rooms were spotless. My husband and I even had to switch rooms mid stay due to availability when we registered and we didn't have to do a thing except show up to a different room. Staff completely moved all of our items for us. Staff is also completely helpful on whatever we needed and making reservations for events.

The resort is a gem. It is close enough to Duval and Mallory that we got our walks in and out of the action every day while starting the day and ending it with out own private beach and bar. The resort is attached to Louies and also has grills for free use and themed free events like "Rum Punch" where guitar is played live and you drink to your hearts content.

I HIGHLY recommend for anyone that wants to feel like they're on an island to tan during the day, go out and then return to that island at night for a private night cap in the bath warm water.

Oh and our last room D303 -- is a keeper. Corner unit with ocean views surrounding. Off the bedroom there is even a second balcony with two chairs waiting for you and a loved one.

Room Tip: D303, see my notes :-)

If you know Key West you don't expect a SAND beach as it's usually limestone rock but this resort has an actual sand beach! Located between Casa Marina and Louie's Backyard restaurant, this is a boutique gem. Resort has clean well furnished rooms. Pool, and gas grills were all in good shape. Our unit was immaculate. Recently refurbished property with lush landscaping. Parking was included in price and we were not dinged with extra fees.

Located on the South side of island away from the Duval St. din and no roosters crowing at dawn!
There is access to Louie's back yard restaurant thru the pool deck which is a 5 star restaurant. Close to water sports office, a quick walk to Southernmost Cafe (yum with 2 star pricing) and a brisk hike to Mallory Square for sunset and street performances.

We have stayed in most of the nicer B&Bs and the Hyatt timeshares over the years and found this resort to have some of the nicest qualities. Would highly recommend for families.

Only suggestion to resort is buy more umbrellas for pool area. Because there were so few people were getting up quite early and "reserving" chaise lounges at 7:00am.

This is a timeshare resort also renting to the general public.

Room Tip: 3 story and no elevators. We stayed in "b" building with direct Atlantic view.
