Well...what can I say that all the others haven't? It was a very memorable experience for both me and my boyfriend. From the moment we arrived to checkout - insert sad face- we were both impressed at the attention to detail. Our stay consisted of 3 nights in the Royal Poinciana Room, which was beautiful with a private terrace and the most comfortable bed! Breakfast was delish and the coffee was to die for... where can I get it?? :) The house has a very comfy vibe and the gardens/pool/sitting areas outside offer a tropical paradise just waiting to be taken advantage of! The staff are very informative and offer any advise when you have a question. Snacks, lemonade, beer and wine are also offered throughout the day and evening. They also have a Kuerig coffee machine in the kitchen if you want that late night caffeine fix!
But the icing on the cake are the two dogs, Havana and Kaya who melted my heart... they are the most welcoming pups and so well behaved. Our last night all four of us enjoyed a night of snuggling on the couch watching the Olympics on the flat screen :)
We will be back!!

Room Tip: The Royal Poinciana is a fantastic room, offering a private veranda and comfy bed. The room is large enough for two people and very clean!

It was our first time in Key West and we couldn't have picked a better place to stay. Paul, Dean, and all the staff were incredible and inn and the gardens are simply amazing. No detail was overlooked and all the recommendations from staff about activities, restuarants, etc. were spot on. The location was perfect for our group--close enough to walk to most of the attractions, yet secluded enough that you could escape if you wanted some quite time in the pool or gardens.

Room Tip: The Royal Ponciana room was wonderful--private balcony that is hidden from the street by the fronds of the palm trees.

Everything about our experience was perfect. The people, the food, the room. Just perfect. They helped us get around town, find places to eat, things to do, and enabled us to make the most out of our short trip to Key West. I will be coming back!

Room Tip: We stayed in a room not in the main house and it was everything we could have wanted!

We stayed at the Mermaid & Alligator for 6 nights in July. It was pretty perfect! Two nights in the Treetop Suite and 4 in the Royal Poinciana room. Paul & Dean were super friendly and Havana & Caya were really well behaved and a lot of fun! The place was spotless, each breakfast was delicious and the gardens are so very beautiful. Stay at the M&A...you'll be glad you did!

Being our very first experience with B&Bs, I must say that the "Mermigator" has set the level of hospitality WAY high! We never anticipated such wonderful service and friendliness with the owners, Dean and Paul. The Sun suite was a great choice overlooking the back patio (and the shimmering pool reflection on our ceiling all night!). Rebecca and Geri were stellar hosts, offering tremendous suggestions for fine (and casual) dining and activities. Our personal favorite experience was the floor time we shared with the house mascots, Havana and Caya. If you're a dog person, this is the place to stay! Special bonus points to Paul for his Saturday morning breakfast frittata! We think we have found our new favorite destination spot, assuming we'll be able to book a room again at America's BEST B&B, The Mermaid & The Alligator!

Room Tip: Each room is very individual. You'll want to check them out on the website, but RESERVE EARLY! This B&B is booked!
