Our forth time in Key West and this is the best location and value you could ask for. It's not fancy but has everything you need, it makes you feel like you are on an island. All the downtown bars, restaurants and marinas are within walking distance. We always rent bikes to cover the whole island and this makes biking easy. This is the Key West life, if you need to be pampered go somewhere else, but if you are always on the go and need a place to take a little rest and get clean and want to be in old town This is it.
I just celebrated my 30th in this lovely place. We rented all the villas : 2 1-bedroom & 1 2-bedrooms. There were 9 of us.
We used the grill available for my birthday luau dinner. We also did a lot of cooking in the 2 available stove tops in the little kitchenette. I wish there was a bigger sink and that the stoves were a little updated or came with an oven but what was available worked and we were able to cook delicious meals. I think not a lot of people who vacation in key west cook a lot of their meals anyway so this isn't such a big deal.
The beds were comfortable and rooms were clean with an abundance of towels in all the bathrooms which helped a lot. I love love the ample lights in the little patio at night and the tiki torches.
The place also had a washer and dryer which was convenient. The noise from the cigar cafe next to the 2-bedroom villa was audible but didn't bother us that much.
The dipping pool was very refreshing! Good for a small group to sit around while having a drink. I like the privacy the place had while being so near all the restaurants and shops!
Thank you to the owners who let us check out very late too!
We went to Key West for a bachelor party and rented the whole compound. The place was perfect for us -- a central outdoor area with deck and pool, plenty of seating, and no neighbors. The deck has great lighting in the evening and is a perfect spot to relax as you prepare to go out.
The rooms were perfect too, with 3 separate buildings,( 2, 1 bedroom, and 1 - 2 bedroom) + 2 couches.
The location was absolutely perfect- - short walk to get to Duval, or 1/4 of a block to get to the waterfront.
For the price of this place vs a hotel room, (and with having a group) this was a no-brainer.
We stayed at Habor Walk Hideaways for 5 days and it was excellent. It's a great location right off of Duval - close enough to walk to all the excitement but far enough to feel like you're away from all the noise.
Would definitely stay here again!
We rented the entire compound for a group of 8 of us. It was perfect. Everyone had privacy but the large outdoor area by the pool was a perfect place to gather and relax together. All the couples enjoyed their rooms. The location was fabulous, walking distance to everything. I was pleasantly surprised by the decor, condition, and amenities of each room, as they were much nicer than what I was expecting.
It was also nice having a washer and dyer on property - we had several runners in our group and it was wonderful to wash the clothes before leaving.
Bert and Phyllis answered all of the questions prior to arriving and were available if we needed them once we checked-in.
Everyone in our group said they would most definitely stay there again.

Harbor Walk Hideaways was perfect for the 7 of us. Two couples each got their own 1 BR/BA cottage, and we had a 2 BR/1 BA for us and a friend in her own room. Great location on Greene, just off Duval, and Caroline, so very close to main bars & restaurants, sunset at Mallory and my favorite spot - Schooner Warf. You're far enough off Duval for things to be pretty quiet (although music from the cigar store next door sounds like it's piped in your cottage until midnight or so.
The cottages are clean and nicely decorated. Each one provides a nice sitting area and dry bar (coffee maker, refrigerator, dishes, etc). One even has a kitchenette. I was impressed with the quality and style of the bathrooms - much nicer than most KW rentals. Towels are fluffy and abundant.
You get your own lovely garden, water fall and dipping pool. The courtyard is actually quite large. All 7 of us sat comfortably around the picnic table. The waterfall is pretty and the sound breaks up normal KW noises - sooooo relaxing. The pool was great to relax in after hours out in the 90+ degree weather. The foliage is beautiful - such nice surroundings for hanging out with friends or alone. You feel secluded, but you're in the heart of old Key West.
Couples on their own can rent individual units, but if you're coming with a group, I highly recommend this affordable, lovely set-up. Bert & Phyllis were very accommodating and just a call or visit away if we needed anything.
This is a real find and we plan on returning to stay at Bert's Harbor House Hideaways. In the past I've often stayed on the southern end of Historic KW, but now I have a beautiful tropical place hidden in the northern end of town steps from most of the action.
