“Jaw dropping charm!”
Reviewed June 20, 2010

I could NOT believe this place! PERFECT location, WONDERFUL amenities, AWESOME staff, GREAT rooms. Mona and her staff have created the absolutely BEST experience for travelers! They allowed us use of their BEAUTIFUL and charming courtyard for the memorial service we were all there for. With all the lights, chairs, seclusion it was the perfect setting so befitting the loved one we were honoring. I ALWAYS hope to stay here for any return trips. NOTE TO TRAVELERS: Please watch the new parking meters everywhere! Fines are $25 and the fined areas are NOT WELL marked and some take only debit/credit cards. Also realize there appears to be a SPRING BREAK mentality now on the weekends. You may wish to plan your walk abouts during Sunday night and weekdays to get a real experience of old Key West.

I have stayed in Key West numerous times, at various places. Now that I have found the Southernmost Point Guest House, I hope that they always have a room for me on future trips. Mona, the owner, was amazing in the way she welcomed my son (who had just graduated college) and I into her home. Gary, at the front desk, was as nice, friendly and helpful as anyone could ever hope for. The room was large and comfortable with 2 double beds and a kitchen and contained a magic carafe of wine. Magic...because I found it magically filled when I returned each day.

We stayed for 4 nights and wished that it could have been 40. Thanks Mona and Gary.

We researched for over a year to find the best place to stay in Key West. After much research we chose the Southern Most Point Guesthouse, and it was a perfect place to stay!! The location was perfect (corner of South and Duvall Streets next to the Southern Most Point Marker), and the prices were unbeatable. We stayed in the honeymoon suite for an entire week for less than some of the hotels charge for a couple of nights. Our friends stayed in the room next door and were very pleased with their room as well!! The beds were comfy, the decor was warm and welcoming. House keeping came in and cleaned the rooms every single day and provided fresh towels. The office staff and owner (Mona) were very friendly and helpful with suggestions on places to eat and things to do. There is a beach half a block away that the kids swam in for hours. Mona provides beach chairs, umbrellas and towels for beach use. The grounds at the Guesthouse were shaded and beautiful. Mona even let us have our reception there free of charge, and it was beyond beautiful!!! We can not wait to go back to Key West, and when we do, this is the place we will stay!!

I stayed @ the Southernmost Point Guest House with 2 girlfriends 5/20/10-5/24/10. We had the Deluxe efficiency and to call it a room doesnt do it justice. It's more like an entire wing of the house. Huge living room with fireplace,2 double beds and a pull out sofa,as well as a very large kitchen and back porch with porch swing. Beautiful surrondings and only about a block to beach. Mona and her staff were fantastic. I wont stay anywhere else. **TIP: The best (and most fun) way to get around the island is bicycles. Ask Mona to call bike company for you..not only will they deliver them to hotel and pick them up; they're very inexpensive. We paid $20.00 for 48 hours!!

My room was very clean, comfortable, and quiet. The staff are all welcoming and willing to help with your concerns. I am usually a very active person while traveling; however, the wonderful grounds, hammocks, and swings beckon you to hang-out and enjoy the surroundings. The location is one house away from the ocean, which you can see and hear while sitting on the porch. My only "complaint", I like firm beds, and mine was quite soft. Book your stay and enjoy !

This was our second time staying here and it was just as wonderful as the first time. The rooms are romantic and the grounds are so charming. The staff is so cheery and helpful. The house is located at the 'quieter' end of Duval, but you are still a short walk to all the action. The price is the best around and you are not cut short on quality. I would recommend it all the way! We can't wait to go back again.

A friend and I stayed there for 3 nights ...Our room had 2 queen size beds..couch..closet...Kitchentte (stove/microwave/sm fridge)...bathroom.....
It's on the other end of Duval , nice and quiet...A short walk to everything....South beach is right across the street-and the Southern most beach cafe is on that beach-serves breakfast lunch and dinner...
The guest house supplies beach towels and beach chairs to borrow--excellent !
They have pool -sized hot tub which is great :)
Free parking on site....The grounds around the house are nice--very relaxing ....They built a trellis and grape vines have grown all over it --it's really cool sitting under it :
Having breakfast, relaxing, Reading a book, etc...

Breakfast is your usual bagels/muffins/pastries/fruit,etc--and the lady who runs the office makes hot items, like waffles/etc to order....Coffee/Tea/Juice etc is available.....

If you don't mind walking ---you'll save alot of money staying here....

There's another lady who works the desk--I'm bad with names, but she has blonde hair.. She is awesome ! Very helpful with information about Key West if you're unfamiliar with the Island....

The only negative---The Southern Most House landmark--is next door and they used
to offer people staying at this guest house usage of their pool and bar...But new management took over and changed that ...

Official Description (provided by the hotel):
Welcome to the southernmost guest house in the United States. At our Key West guest house, we offer southernmost hospitality, and since the late 1800s, we’ve gone to great lengths to make stays here an absolute pleasure. In fact, in 1894, when Cuban cigar-maker Eduardo H. Gato realized the handsome, rambling Victorian home he had built was not getting the right sun exposure on his favorite porches, he moved the house across the street! He had the huge structure rolled across the street on logs pulled by mules and he rotated the house to create the most favorable mix of sun and shade. ... more   less
