Mona, Bobbi, and Beth really down to earth people. Make you feel welcomed and appreciated. Nice place with great yard, beautiful scenery, great breakfast, and most of all you are at the southern most point. Most of their guests return every year and have for years. So book in plenty of time. They also do not charge extra to park which is a big deal in key west. Thanks Mona Bobbi and Beth. Oh and they have wine for their guests daily. My mom really enjoyed that.

This guest house is a gem. Tucked away at the quiet end of Duval St., surrounded by lush, colourful foliage, it has become a home away from home for me and my family (2 adults, 1 thirteen yr old). We have stayed here three times now and each time it feels like "coming home". The house is something out of another century - very romantic and charming. Our room (no. 2) is painted soothing colours, has two lovely beds (complete with whimsical netting around each). It also has a great kitchen, fully equippped. The bathroom is small but totally functional.
The best part of this guest house is Mona and her staff - they are the best! So accommodating and helpful. They make everything easy. I love the breakfast that's provided every mornning - toast, sausage, hash browns, cereal, waffles, bagles, eggs, lots of fruit, coffee, water, etc. Oh, and fresh baked cakes and pastries! There are lovely tables and chairs set up on the wrap-around veranda, as well in the beautiful gardens, where you can enjoy your breakfast and enjoy being in a tropical paradise. And, in the evenings, Mona puts out wine for her guests to enjoy during happy hour. It doesn't get any better than this!

Room Tip: Room No. 2 is our favourite.

I really like this inn. it's at the end of duval, so it's away from the crazy nightlife, but it's right next to the small beach and the southernmost point buoy. the staff is super nice and the room we stayed in (all the way in the back on the first floor) was very relaxing and spacious. we had a king bed which wasn't totally comfortable, but was ok. our toilet overflowed the first night but they fixed it right away and cleaned the floor up completely. another perk is the pool at the southernmost hotel across the street. same company, so we went over there to swim and it was really nice. they have free wifi there, too.

they offer free wifi but it doesn't reach the back rooms. there is supposed to be a separate code for that area but the woman working there while we were there didn't know it.

breakfast is just ok. nothing was fresh except the hardboiled eggs (overcooked), bananas and oranges. it was muffins (which might have been fresh but were not very good), bagels, frozen waffles, canned peaches and prunes, cereal, milk, bottled oj and cranberry juice. when you have such an bounty of fresh fruit available, i would think that an inn would take advantage of that.

despite the disappointing breakfast, i would stay here again just for the peace & quiet and friendly people.

Our cousins reunion has been coming to Key West and staying at Mona's Southernmost Point Guest House for six years over the past 11 years. The accommodations, ambiance, decor and amenities are excellent and exceed expectations for a charming, old-world historic home! It has all the fine touches and attention to details one could anticipate! The rooms can be made as cold as you can stand and quiet as you need them to be! The soaking pool was wonderful and accommodated 14 of us comfortably! We grilled under the grape arbor some evenings and all the equipment and tools and implements, coolers and ice we needed was provided! The breakfast was varied and substantial! Duval street and the other colorful touristy sights, scenes and venues were closeby. The Concierge team of Beth and Bobbie were unparalleled in their gracious attentiveness! The owner, Mona, is a star! The location is close to everything important and essential and a short ride to the airport when we reluctantly have to return home.

Room Tip: Room number 5 is my favorite -- I've stayed in or seen all the rooms and they are each unique! A...

In quieter part of Key West at terminus of Duval Street. Yes, there is a quiet end. Nice queen room with mini sink and mini frig. Comfortable bed, even the rollaway was okay. Great little AC unit cooled the room admirably. Cool, tile floors.

Mona is a gracious hostess and we felt very welcomed! Nice little breakfast. Potatoes were very, very good. Good coffee too (to my surprise, it was Maxwell House - made double strength); thanks, Mona!

Well kept, clean, beautifully landscaped. One thing: VERY uneven brick pavement, sudden drop-offs, and poor night lighting. I almost injured myself several times.

Access to the Southernmost Hotel (across Duval) for their awesome pool area. Very nice!

Go and you won't be disappointed! But watch your step.

Park you car when you arrive and walk ... Key West style to all your attractions...the rooms are all unique and different ... casual elegance and what a gorgeous garden! In the morning the Continental Breakfast alone is worth waking up for ... or you can even cook in most rooms! This place is family owned and as a Wedding/Event Planner www.vidalofkeywest.com Photographer I have had Wedding Events there, placed guests to room there and love the calm, spiritual feeling you get from stepping onto the property! Run by true Key West Conchs ... this property is right next to the Atlantic Ocean and located on the longest street in America .. Duval Street .. on the other side is the Gulf of Mexico! Park you car and walk all attractions are steps away...clean, friendly and a Key West deal...I even have stayed there myself!

Room Tip: Just ask for quainte and casual elegance!

Official Description (provided by the hotel):
Welcome to the southernmost guest house in the United States. At our Key West guest house, we offer southernmost hospitality, and since the late 1800s, we’ve gone to great lengths to make stays here an absolute pleasure. In fact, in 1894, when Cuban cigar-maker Eduardo H. Gato realized the handsome, rambling Victorian home he had built was not getting the right sun exposure on his favorite porches, he moved the house across the street! He had the huge structure rolled across the street on logs pulled by mules and he rotated the house to create the most favorable mix of sun and shade. ... more   less
