My wife and I were in town for the songwriters festival 5/14. While events on Duval street can be just short of chaos Courtney's just a couple of minutes walk off Duval can be an oasis. We had room 18 which is nicely secluded. The rooms are small and less than luxurious but always clean and well kept. The A/C more than comfortable and the comp breakfast has just the right selection. Courtney's is a collection of classic cottage style structures that span the block between Petronia and Angela streets. Each room is unique in layout and style so no cookie cutter blandness. This is what Key West used to be. We have stayed here for our last 3 or 4 trips and will continue to stay here in the future.

Room Tip: each room is unique, small, quiet, and secluded. there are a hand full of rooms located around a sm...

My husband and I have stayed here three times now. I couldn't imagine staying anywhere else. The location is perfect, two blocks off Duval. The staff is very nice. Rooms are clean. I highly recommend this place.

Just got back from Key West and stayed at Courtney's for the 3rd time. We love the idea that it is family run and everyone makes you feel welcome. This trip we stayed in room 15 and it was great for a couple on a short stay. They are also working on the place to improve the grounds and rooms. We will definitely be going back. And, if you drive you have FREE parking. It is a little bit of a walk from Schooner Wharf, Conch Republic, etc. but, at least you burn off the beer calories............

And we actually named one of our cats Courtney after staying here!

We were two couples looking for two separate rooms, but the cost of lodging in Key West all but scared us off. That is until I came across Courtney’s Place. They offered accommodations at half the price of other places I looked at and after reading the reviews I was sure it would meet our needs.
We arrived in Key West after a long day of driving and with the help of GPS quickly found Courtney’s. Our first impression was very good. The buildings/houses in the area are historic and very quaint, and lots of trees and sun provided a real “vacation” feel. The road to the front of the cottages is small but there is a small area where you can park and unload. The office is only manned from 0800 to 1700, so when we arrived they were just in the process of leaving instructions for us. There is a small parking lot on the side of the property and we had no problem parking our mid-size SUV. They say its first come/first serve so if arriving late you may have to find parking on the neighboring street.
A nice white fence and gate (with cipher lock) served to secure the property, and opens to a beautiful courtyard with a very small, very inviting pool, a couple of patio tables with umbrellas, several lounge chairs, and lots of vegetation.
We had room number one, directly off the courtyard. First glance of the room from the outside had us wondering what we got ourselves into but that was quickly alleviated when we opened the door. Old but very nice, all done in wood… wood floors, wood walls, wooden staircase to the upstairs sleeping areas, which consisted of a loft type area with double bed, and a separate room also with double bed and TV. Downstairs, was a large living room with big leather sofa and dining room table/chairs. Off the living room was a full size kitchen with coffee maker (there was even a coffee grinder and fresh coffee beans), full size refrigerator and stove and sink. A fairly large bathroom with full size tub/shower was off the other side of the living room and functioned well for the four of us. There was a very comfortable feel, like you were in your own vacation house.
Outside, a wooden porch with two-seater bench overlooked the courtyard and two steps down led to the patio table with four chairs meant for our room. We spent both our morning/evenings around that table, just a really peaceful atmosphere.
The breakfast room was attended daily by a very nice lady who kept everything clean and stocked. I saw a variety of yogurts, bagels, cereals, pastries, sausage biscuits, juices, coffee.
Duval Street is just a couple of minutes’ walk away but far enough away to be able to escape the craziness and noise. The Hemingway house and the USA’s southernmost point is also only a short walk from the hotel.
We really enjoyed our stay and if we ever go back to Key West I can’t imagine staying anywhere else.

My son and I spent his spring break in Key West. March 2014
We stayed at Courney's Place on Petronis St. It was a very nice place. We felt it was a little difficult to find. The office is located off of Whitmarsh Ln (which looks more like an alley then a street). Since the streets are one way and narrow, we actually found it easier to stop the car and walk around the area to find the main desk. The staff was very friendly. We stayed in cabin 7. It was large and clean. It is a little dated, but nothing nasty. The fully equiped kitchen was nice and even offered whole coffee beans that you can grind fresh before brewing. The cabins are close together ,but we were at the end and if felt very private there. Never really had time to hang out at the pool, but we did rent the bikes they have on property at a much better rate than we found anywhere else (and you dont have to go anywhere else to drop them off) Easy walking distance to Duval St where all the action is. I felt the price was very reasonabe and would recommend to friends and family.

I traveled with a group of 4 ladies on a girls getaway weekend. We were looking for a couple of things: Close proximity to Duvall Street, two bedrooms and two bathrooms, with a small kitchenette. We got all of that with Courtney's Place. We were in Cottage 6 which also had two porches to hang out on. The cottages were close together, but we still felt like we had a lot of privacy. The bedrooms were just the right size for two people and the ceiling fans were a nice touch. The whole cottage was clean and you can tell the staff care to do it right and well.

The pool area is small, but we didn't spend much time there and didn't plan to as that was not a priority for us. However, it worked perfect to cool us off after wandering around the city. The continental breakfast was a good start to the morning to tide us over until we were ready to venture out, but I wouldn't rely on it if you are used to a full pancakes and eggs style breakfast. As a suggestion to Courtney's place: some bananas and oranges or apples would be a welcome addition to the breakfast set up.

Overall, I would not hesitate to stay here again. It was relaxed, clean, the beds were comfortable and the staff were all quite friendly. The price was just right for what we received!

We recently spent a few nights in one of the Courtney's Place efficiencies. I'd give the room a 3 and the location a 5, and in Key West location is critical. Driving (and parking) is a royal pain, so the ability to walk to Duval, Mallory Square, Southernmost Point, etc. from a central location is a huge plus. That definitely outweighed the room's downsides -- bugs/roaches, noisy a/c, uncomfortable bed.
