We visited Courtney's Place for a week this past February. We were VERY unhappy with our stay. I am all about getting a good deal but regardless of how much we spend there are certain things we just expect. Not all of our vacations have to be 5 star resorts but cleanliness or the lack there of is ridiculous. All facilities we saw were old and tired. Bathroom floor was terribly dirty. My daughter booked this and was under the impression the bedroom was downstairs. She was very upset since the only bedroom was located upstairs - and you had to go through the loft sleeping area to access it. My daughter was 5 months pregnant and navigating the stairs several times a night to use the bathroom was a bit tricky and certainly not something she would not have chosen. This layout also did not provide my daughter and son in law much privacy either. The "breakfast" offerings were certainly nothing to write home about - little effort or thought put into it. Microwave or toaster quick frozen items. We found 2 fleas on my grandson and several small roaches in the bathroom which we informed the management immediately. The air conditioner could never do much to get the humidity out of the air. ( we are very familiar with humidity - we travel frequently to Mexico and have lived off and on in Houston, Texas - We could never get comfortable at night due to the awful humidity in the cottage - this may have been unusual weather since I can't ever remember the humidity being that overwhelming on any of our other trips to the Keys) Furnishings in our cottage very dated. Bathtub water "sprung a leak" early one evening. The Manager came and assessed the issue then finally called the plumber. When he arrived he mentioned " I don't know why they haven't fixed this yet. This has been a problem for quite some time and I've told them it needs attention" he assured me that the quick fix would hold until we checked out. Which it did but I wish it hadn't been an issue for us to deal with in the first place. The parking lot was ridiculous. I realize tight alleyways complicate the issue but they never should have allowed the medium size motor home to take up two parking spaces in the very tight parking lot. What a mess. We were renting a Chrysler 200 and it was tight. Thank goodness we were not in my huge suburban - we never would have gotten a parking space. The pool in front of our cottage was very clean and the size of a very large hot tub. Perfect for enjoying with my 1 year old grandson but certainly could not have accommodated anyone else comfortably. The location is WONDERFUL! For the price I would certainly consider all options before making reservations at this facility. Our last visit we stayed at The Inn at Key West. Further away from Duval but WOW... totally worth paying to park or taking a taxi to the party spots. This resort was worth every penny and then some!

We stayed in C14 over the weekend there were 4 of us the place was great!!!! There was a seperate bedroom that my husband and I stayed in and then there were 2 single beds our friends stayed in and there was also a futon which we could have had more people stay. Our room had a kitched which worked out great they do serve breakfast in the am till about 11:00 and coffe and some great OJ.

The beds were comfortable to stay in and the location was perfect!!!

More of our friends stayed in different rooms and no complaints Courtney's Place in our new place to stay.

I want to thank the staff which were so nice to us even though I know we got loud.

THANKS!!!!

I just spent 3 nights in cottage # 5 with 3 of my friends for my bachelorette party and Courneys Place was GREAT. Yes the have breakfast. No it is nothing worth writing home about but it gets the job done. The breakfast put out in the office is cold french toast, muffins, bagels, etc. but it's free and in our situation we all woke up at different times so we were able to wonder out to breakfast whenever we wanted instead of waiting for the group to go out so this worked out for us. It is very close to Duval street but not close enough that your having drunks walking past keeping you up at all hours of the night. You will have to walk through some dark unpopulated streets to get to and from Duval, I wouldn't have made that walk alone but with the group I felt safe. Also yes you can tell the facility is a little older but it was certainly clean. Courtneys place is great if you take it for what it is. If your coming to Key West to have a good time and not spend too much time in the room then it's perfect. Our cottage was perfect size for 4 girls, we had 1 girl in each bed up in the loft and 2 of us shared the queen sized bed in the bedroom. If your looking for something fancy then no this is not the place for you. The place seemed pretty full but we weren't kept up at night due to noise or anything and spent a lot of time at the pool in the afternoons and didn't really see anyone there either.

Room Tip: Cottages are the best bet if your traveling with a group. It seemed like they had a few cottages tha...

Parking is a nightmare. You get 1 car—if there is space left in their lot and if you can squeeze through the alley and around the other cars in the lot already.

Everything was very clean and the beds were comfortable, but in spots you felt like you were going to fall through the carpet like there was no board below. Our room (#12) was just big enough for 2 queen beds and the smallest bathroom that can hold a sink, toilet and shower.

Speaking of the shower, the water pressure was very low, and after a 3 minute shower, it took 3 more minutes for the water to drain out of the tub.

I wouldn't call this a bed & breakfast either. Breakfast wasn't served until 8:30, but both mornings we were there, we had trips that required us to be elsewhere by 8 so we never got to experience that portion of the facility. Also, it was laid out more like a series of apartments.

Not worth the money, get a hotel you will be more satisfied!

Cute cottages. Typical Key West style. Can walk to Duval or the waterfront. Great for our small dogs. Our cottage had a courtyard. Covenient parking lot. Leave your car and walk or bike everywhere. I would stay here again and recommend Courtney's to friends.

Hi, we stayed for 3 nights as a part of a larger family group. We stayed in what i believe was the largest cottage. It had a top floor attic style room with a double bed, a loft bedroom with a double bed, and two couches in the living area. It also had a small kitchen which was very serviceable, and stocked with dishes, coffee cups, coffee maker, whole bean coffee and grinder (nice touch), although it did not have a diswasher, and there was a sign that said that guests were expected to wash their own dishes.

Here's the thing...both of the upstairs bedrooms had large skylights, which provide great light during the day. When you are awake. When you are sleeping, early in the morning, the skylights are not so much fun. Unfortunately, there are no shades on the skylights or anything that might work to block the light. Additionally, outside of the bedroom window, there is a very bright streetlight. Even though there are blinds on the window, there are no curtains and so it is hard to sleep with that very bright light outside.

The living area was really nice, and as I said, included a couch, a loveseat, and a small table. We had fun hanging out with the family and playing cards, etc. around the table, so that was really nice.

There was one bathroom, downstairs, which was decent sized. although there wasn't much water pressure and the bathroom could use a facelift. Things like missing drain covers, etc., are easy to fix and make a difference. The mattresses were not comfortable, but the sheets were nice quality and soft. The cottage was fairly clean to the eye, but my kids had dirty bare feet in no time after they took off their socks and shoes, so the wood floors could probably use a good deep clean.

The breakfast part of the stay was a disappointment. Everything was pre-packaged, mostly frozen fare, with the exception of hard boiled eggs (available daily) and yogurt (available 2 of the three mornings we were there). It would have been easy to have some quiche or other hot items, or at least some fresh fruit. When you are paying around $300 per night, that doesn't seem unreasonable. There was coffee and tea available all of the time, which was nice. They also had a few copies of newspapers in the morning.

The pool, though tiny, is nice to have available. Our kids loved the cats roaming about the property, and had great fun feeding them. The location can't be beat, about 3 short blocks to Duval Street and in a lovely neighborhood with many historic homes. Parking is tight, but it's Key West, and that's just the way it works! The staff seemed helpful enough, and did make a few calls for us with regard to a taxi. I did see them assisting other guests. The staff wasn't overly friendly or welcoming, though. We were primarily there on the weekend, though, so perhaps the weekday staff is more friendly. I did notice staff sweeping and cleaning on Monday morning outside around the grounds, and that would have been a great addition over the weekend as we experienced a lot of wind and rain so there was a fair amount of debris around the property.
All in all, great location, ok accomodations, and a great long weekend in Key West!

We stayed her 4 nights. Overall we were pleased with our stay there and have no major complaints. The feel of the place was good and the location is close enough to Duval and far enough from Duval. Our neighbors have been staying there for winters for many years and seemed pleased with the accommodations. The breakfast was fine, although I would have preferred to see more items that were of the healthy variety.
As many have said, not as clean as one would like. Linens were past their prime as was the room. The floors were a bit grungy and the room could use a little renovation. We had the smallest room there and it was just big enough. It included a small sitting area that helped ebb the cramped feeling.
A little disconcerting - the security plaques in most properties surrounding us. Guessing crime is an issue.
Staff were friendly and were helpful with answering questions. Parking is definitely an issue as the lot is a navigational puzzle. Once we moved our car we found the lot to be full - therefore finding a street spot ensued. That's another story......
For the most part we were fine with being there. It is overpriced for what you get. I wouldn't recommend it if your not a cat/dog lover. Cats are everywhere and often try and get in the room. Bugs were another. We both came home with plenty of little bites - fleas?

Room Tip: I don't recommend the smallest room. Besides being that, you couldn't open the windows to g...
