We ate dinner at Grunts after seeing the reviews on Tripadvisor. It's a little off the beaten path. We brought out 12 year old son who usually orders off the kids menu when we eat out (he's a chicken finger and fries kind of kid most of the time). Luckily it wasn't raining when we arrived, because most of the seating is outside and no children are allowed inside. We ordered an appetizer, that I can't recall what they called it, but it was basically a bruschetta type of thing, tomatoes, mozzarella, olive oil and balsamic vinegar served with bread. It wasn't anything to write home about. They really didn't have a kids menu, but we were told our son could have Mac & cheese, grilled chicken, or a third choice that I can't recall. No none of those things sounded good to him, so he ordered the smoked baby back ribs that were served with veggies and mashed potatoes. The ribs were just ok and the potatoes were cold. My husband ordered the special which was fish with rice with a tomato cream sauce and veggies. He liked it quite a bit. I ordered the entree portion of lobster Mac & cheese and ate my sons veggies. The lobster Mac & cheese was excellent! We also had their sangria to drink. It was good. They billed our bar tab and food tab separately, which I thought odd. The total was $114. I thought it was good, but not that good. The service was excellent though.

This was the best meal that we had in Key West.
We came because we saw the reviews on TA, but when we walked up to the place we though "dive bar". Man, we were glad we went in because the food was great.

Our table of five was very hungry, so we ordered for appetizers:
- Lobster Mac and cheese that was so good that we had to order another.
- avocado caprese
- cheese plate

All of the apps were really good, but the Lobster Mac and Cheese was dynamite.

For dinners we ordered:
Red Snapper
Mahi Mahi
Fish Tacos
Steak

I will tell you that in this finicky group there were NO leftovers and all the food was seasoned and prepared to perfection.

An overall great meal.

Found this restaurant on a night out with my husband with no plans in mind. Decided to stop here and sit outside by the fan. We started out with the white sangria it was delicious. Then we ordered the lobster Mac n cheese per the waitresses recommendation. It was to die for! Then I got the fresh catch special of the night soaked in a spicy mango sauce! It was awesome! Loved our waitress wish I could remember her name but she was very sweet! Go to Grunts you won't regret it!

With a plethora of loud and upbeat bar/restaurants in Key West, finding this quiet and lovely respite was a gem! We sat outside just after a rainstorm, the staff quickly dried the tables and the weather was perfect (no bugs). The sun went down, the lights came on, and the atmosphere was just what we needed. Each member of the staff we talked to had a fun accent and was very pleasant. There was no kids menu, and we have kids ages 14 and 9. Plus we had non-seafood eaters in our group (a travesty!). So we ordered two entrees for the four of us - the Jamaican Jerk chicken and Wood Roasted Pork Loin. Both were delicious; some of the best food we've had on our trip. Their Key Lime Pie was also some of the better we've had. If you want to get away from the noise and just sit/relax and enjoy good food and atmosphere, this is the place for you!

Everything was amazing! Fine dine food without the pretense or expensive price tag! A great find. Would recommend for couples or families with young adults.
