YELP indicated that Kaya Island Eats was casual attire, so we stopped by on our way back from Dry Tortuqus National Park. We were dry and clean, but felt WAY underdressed. Scott the owner greeted us with a smile and seated us at an awesome table in the middle of the restaurant where we enjoyed delicious seafood dishes presented in fun unique specialized ways with amazing sauces. However, the guests around us were "dressed" for the evening and from the nasty looks of the older guests, they didn't approve of our casual shorts. Nonetheless, Scott is an amazing host running an incredible restaurant.

On our first evening, the campground host suggested we walk over to Kaya. The service and food were good and it is right on the water!

We had dinner at this restaurant around 7 PM and although we had trouble finding a place to park, we were seated immediately. We ordered the tuna and mahi-mahi and both meals were very attractively presented. There was a wonderful spicy sauce on the mahi-mahi that was a nice complement of flavors. Both meals were adequate portions-we also had a bottle of wine and I felt the price was reasonable for the quality of the food and wine. The place was a little noisy, but there were several larger tables of people all having a good time. I would recommend this restaurant for a relaxing meal.

THe menu is exciting and interesting and the chef comes through with flying colors. THe tuna poke is wonderful. The Key Lime pie is to die for with a tangy flavor and mile high meringue.

The owner should invest some profits in fixing up the place. The seating is rickety and uncomfortable. The place is a bit shabby. Hence the 4, not 5.
