This is paradise. From the minute you enter the front foyer,to the pleasant smelling spacious rooms, the refreshing pool, the enjoyable snack shack, efficient cleaning staff and right down to enjoyable maintenance staff. It was down right homey. Do not hesitate to stay here, we enjoyed each and every minute spent here. Hyatt treats everyone as if they were the most important person on this earth

This was our first trip to key west in many years. We wanted a condo style facility and good location. Check in was a breeze. We arrived late, but they knew us by name. We were given directions to our condo and we set off to get moved in.

We were a bit frustrated that there was only 1 elevator and we were on the 3rd floor with limited parking close by. We made it work. Was an issue for us because we had a handicapped person with us.

We are on day 3 of our stay and over all it has been good. The beds are comfortable. The condo good sized. The balcony our favorite sitting area and the grounds are lovely. The pool is large and well kept. Our room has been recently upgraded and painted.

Now the frustrations:

The grounds crew making terrible noise so you could not enjoy the outdoors ( which is why I came)

Today the elevator is out of service. We were told for a half hour. It is 2 hours later and still not working. There appears to be a bit of struggle with clear communication.

The hotel is right by the key west airport so there is very loud airplane noise a few hours in the morning and afternoon.

Neat items:

We bought the trolley tickets as the pick up was next door. It is a pretty good service.

The giant lizards are pretty cool to see! You have to be on the lookout for them.
Overall a good stay for the price.

Room Tip: Ask for a room close to the only elevator and overlooking the pool if you want to keep an eye on old...

We arrived on Saturday, March 22, 2014 around 6:00 pm. We left Sarasota and drove and we make a lot of stops along the way for drinks and food - so our road trip takes about eight to nine hours. We were pleased that the check-in process was quick and simple, allowing us to get to our room and get settled in quickly.

On Sunday we spent the entire day at the pool. Kids had a blast. There is a poolside bar that served food and drinks. Drinks and food were both great! Priced attractively. There is a pool table and ping pong table as well as a shuffleboard court. Not much for 10/6 year old kids to do, but they kept themselves occupied while the adults drank and relaxed! There is a BBQ area behind the bar that is absolutely outstanding. You just have to go to the front office to get a grill utensil set and off you go. We are Key West regulars, so we've eaten at pretty much every restaurant on the island. The novelty wears off quick. So I highly suggest buying food to cook on the grill - steaks, burgers, wings, hot dogs, fish, shrimp - we did it all. We were the only ones using the BBQ area (there are four grills) so it was like being on our own pool lanai! If you have kids, this is a must - they can play in the pool while the adults cook and relax in the hammocks.
If you want to order pizza one night, go with Big John's Pizza! Best pizza on the island and they deliver.

Our only complaint is that we wanted to stay one extra night (Thursday night and come up Friday), however, the office would not even consider giving us a deal - even though the room would sit vacant for one night before the next party checked in on Friday. They wanted $700 for one night. I would have paid up to $350 for the extra night but they said no way.

All and all we would stay here again with or without children with us. It is off the beaten path and even thought it's next to the airport, it's really not that noisy. No jets at night so it's very peaceful.

Room Tip: The two bedroom condo sleeps up to six. The pull-out couch is fairly comfortable (more so than most...

This was not our first trip to Key West. We stayed at the Marriott and had an extraordinary experience. We were anticipating the same type of experience at the Hyatt (this was our first experience with a Hyatt Vacation Club.) Boy, were we wrong!! The employees at the facility were lovely and the grounds were beautiful, but the infrastructure left a lot to be desired!!! The walls, ceilings and floors were made of paper! We felt as if we were traveling and involved with three other families that were oblivious to the fact that we could hear every word they said as well as personal occurrences that do not need be described. I finally phoned the front desk to have them remind the people above us that there were people below. That call did not stop the ball from bouncing, the running back and forth nor the toy strollers going back and forth- was able to determine what t that noise actually was after looking up at their balcony from a side window below and saw the culprit. I only chose to look after the sliding door opened and closed once every 15 seconds. The children obviously enjoyed opening and closing the sliding door. The facility is located next to the airport. LITERALLY next to the airport. When I phoned ahead of time to see if the airplanes could be heard within the room The answer was, "no." Wow, they must be deaf!!

The Hyatt Windward Pointe is well maintained and well staffed with good accommodations. It's location next to the airport might annoy some but our group was not too perturbed and the view of the ocean from our room was spectacular. The rooms need updating a bit, we saw the new interior designs planned for the renovation. The kitchen was supplied with a good upscale refrigerator and a dishwasher and washer and dryer are also supplied. The location to us was the best for Key West as it was Spring Break and St. Patrick's the same weekend so we were more than happy to be away from the noise. Duval Street was over the top. Recommend searching a bit for $10 parking when in Key West proper as there are greedy parking lots that go up to $40!!!

Also recommend Classic Harbor Line schooner for a sunset cruise. The staff is very professional and the schooner well maintained.

Stayed here with my wife and another couple two weeks ago. The rooms were extremely roomy with one large master bedroom and another roomy queen size bedroom. The value could not be beat. We stayed for four nights at $500 per all in. Split that was only $250 per couple. We stopped at the Hyatt downtown and they wanted $600 for a one room bedroom so we felt like we had a great deal. The pool was great. Always a chair available. The water was cold but they said the heater was down. Not that big of a deal for us. We rented a car for $135 including gas for our five days there. Another great deal. The best part of staying here was relaxing at the pool during the day and returning home to some peace and quiet after visiting Duval Street. Nice view of the ocean from the room as well as the pool. It's was a bit odd that there really wasn't a beach. Smathers Beach was packed during our stay due to Spring Break so that really wasn't an option. Would definitely stay here again.

Room Tip: Stop at the market to stock up on some snacks, breakfast and alcohol items.

Overall great stay. The resort is somewhat secluded near the airport. Others have complained about noise. For my brother & I this was not an issue. The resort is clean and up to date. The only suggestion for improvement would be Abbey Road. The bar/gift shop needs to be updated. It seems like the Hyatt could make it more upscale.
