We spent Thanksgiving week and I feel like I have been away for a month. The facility is one of the best I have stayed in. The room was awesome and complete with everything we needed to cook our Thanksgiving dinner. The pool and grounds are breathtaking . I would highly recommend to families and couples alike .

Room Tip: Poolside is great

This hotel is great! We had a two bedroom unit with a full kitchen, washer and dryer and living room. The master bedroom is huge, with a king bed, and a 5 piece bath. They have a Blu-ray player in the livingroom and the patio with table and charis and rocking chairs is fabulous. The pool is nice, the hot tub nicer. We had maid service every day, they straightened and left new towels. It was easy to get around the town from here. The Old Town trolley stops at the hotel next door, and you can buy tickets there too. The tickets are good for two days, give a nice tour of the island, and will get you downtown easily.

Room Tip: All rooms are ocean view, we were in a room where the patio was shaded by a huge tree and is was won...

Based on the reviews and photos I had a high expectation. The unit is old, the wooden panel on the jacuzzi is falling off. There were lots of sugar ants at our kitchen. We couldn't leave any food on the counter or the dinning table. I called the front desk, apparently they knew the problem. They sent someone who sprayed something on the floor. It did nothing at all. There is no house keeping just towel service.

My husband, myself and another couple stayed here November 2012 for 5 days. We were there the same week last year. It is beautiful! 2 bedrooms, 2 full baths and a nice size kitchen dinning room living room combo. Basically they supply you with everything you need. Dish soap, dishwasher tablets, and laundry detergent. They come in and clean everyday and make your bed. The pool is spotless and beautiful also. We absolutely love this place! we will be back!

Room Tip: Room with a great view! Looking at the water from the balcony!

We had booked our trip to Key West for one night only unaware that it was the Fantasy Fest weekend and it was too late for us to change our travel arrangements. The Hyatt Windward Pointe was the only decent place we could find to stay (plenty of clapped out dives available but even for one night we refused to compromise) and for one night at this hotel it was US$500. It is a time share establishment so we did get a two bedroomed apartment but even so we found the price somewhat outrageous. The apartment was pleasant, although the decor was a little old fashioned, but it had a lovely seaview balcony. Unfortunately (no fault of the hotel) Hurricane Sandy persisted in keeping the winds blowing so it was impossible to enjoy sitting out with an evening cocktail.

The location of the hotel is right next to the airport which didn't bother us at all although I can see that it would be annoying to some people. The hotel offers a $5 shuttle service (one way) into the town and although we had a car, on this particular weekend parking was impossible. In normal circumstances it would be cheaper to drive in and pay parking. The staff were helpful and friendly. The internet available in the lobby is free but it is excrutiatingly slow.

In summary our stay was short and pleasant albeit very very expensive.

My wife, a family friend and I stayed here from 9 to 14 Oct 2012.
On first impressions the room was fantastic, later we discovered that the room, floor etc were not as clean as we would have wished for. We only had our towels changed and room service on the 3rd day.
The air con was very quiet and effective, the beds were fantastic, the best we had when in America.
The kitchen area was well equipped, but there was no kettle to boil water so it meant putting cups in the microwave. The Americans are coffee drinkers so there is a coffee maker but that will not heat water to boiling for the English cup of tea that my wife wanted.

The room had a lovely view over the pool and out to sea, there was a good balcony with a table and chairs, great for breakfast in the sun. A really nice touch was the telescope for us to use.

The pool area was perfect and nicely kept.

The Hotel is at least 4 miles from Key West centre so a car is required. The Hotel do run a complementary mini bus but its $5 per person each way so would mount up. A taxi is $20 into town so it's best to drive in and pay $10-$15 per day to park.

The worse thing about the Hotel is the noise from the airport. I love planes and have stayed at Hotels close to Airports before with no problems. But this airport not only operates the passenger jets but also lots of small single engine planes that operate trips etc. These little planes made more noise than any of the bigger jets and were a lot more frequent. Also there is a Navy base close by and each day fighter jets would scream overhead on training flights.

I think the Hyatt was very good but I would probably spend that little more to stay at the Hyatt Resort and Spa in Key West Centre which has no problems with the plane noise and you would not have to drive into town.

Room Tip: There is no Restaurant

We traded our Boston Custom House for a week here in Key West. The Windward Pointe resort is clean, fairly new, has friendly staff and is a very nice place to stay. You'll hear complaints about the airport, and yes, it's a busy place. We're accustomed to it and it didn't bother us; as a matter of fact it was kinda fun watching the planes taking off from the runway just behind us. Navy jets from the base a little further north in Boca Chica fly by daily as well.
When we arrived, they moved us to a third floor room with a better view-- without us even asking. The amenities were very good with free Wi-Fi, a full kitchen, laundry facility, jacuzzi tub in room and a large patio/deck with table and chairs. Their outdoor pool was nice and there was a jacuzzi pool there too. Well kept grounds made it a pleasure. Although we had a car, the Old Town Trolley tour we took over a two-day period had a stop at the Best Western next door.
Also within walking distance were La Trattoria and Benihana's. If you have an opportunity to get here, by all means I would recommend it.

Room Tip: No restaurant associated with the resort except the pool bar/snack shack Abbey Road. Higher floors...
