My wife and I stayed here seven years ago and loved it so here we are again. Same high quality rooms as before, the bed is very comfy, slept well every night. Breakfast included and is a special treat. Eggs, sausage, pastries, yogart, granola, plenty to get filled up on. Nice pool but too cool right now. Staff is extremely helpful, very customer focused.

We stayed there recently after a trip out of the country and were very pleased with the entire operation. We had a 2nd floor room/suite which was immaculate, although the bath was a little on the smaller size, not a problem though. The bed was the best hotel bed I’ve ever slept in. The grounds are very lush and private. The breakfast each morning was great and the 5pm pianist a bonus. The serve yourself wine bar was nearly addictive.

My husband and I were looking for a spot to celebrate our 35th anniversary in Key West. We had never visited Key West before and were looking for a new experience. The Gardens Hotel was beyond fantastic! Check in was seamless and Cottage #1 exceeded our expectations. I am ridiculously picky about where I stay and was very happy with this beautiful location. We felt secluded even though we were only a block from the excitement on Duval Street. The location allowed us to walk everywhere and when were were too tired, an Uber was only a few minutes away. The staff were extremely attentive and friendly, making us feel at home and welcome. We will definitely return next year! Thank you David and the rest of staff at The Gardens Hotel for a memorable experience.

This property gets excellent reviews so my husband and I chose to stay here for five nights while visiting Key West for the first time. The location is an absolute 10, and the garden setting is also a 10. If that is all that matters to you in choosing a property, stay here. However, here's what was lacking in our garden room: !). Cleanliness...the greenish mold in the bathroom was very disconcerting; 2). Space....#12 of the garden rooms was about the size of a small bedroom in a home and didn't look anything like the photos on the website; 3). Storage....literally, other than the small closet with hangers, there was no place to store clothing and belongings so we stacked our things on the chairs and desk for five days; and 4.) The staff was helpful but it's sad to have to ask for a toilet plunger, a way to see any TV channel other than Fox Business, and light bulbs bright enough to read at night (all happened). Sometimes properties carry a mystique that cannot be explained; I think that's the case with The Gardens. It seems to have incredible cachet with the older set who are terrifically loyal to this place. I'm one of the older set who is sure there is some cleaner, more spacious, more welcoming option somewhere in Key West.

Thank you for your comments however some points need to be addressed. During your visit Key West had a partial power outage which sometimes can affect our Comcast system or the monitors. This is indeed what happened with your TV. When you brought it to my attention I immediately went into the room personally and reset the monitor and Comcast. You are both avid readers and our lights were indeed not 100 watts and when you asked for them to be changed we did twice, bringing them up to 100 watts. Very bright. The green on the brass hinges is patina and not mold. They are polished on a regular maintenance schedule and this has been addressed. I apologize you had to see it and report it here. Our photographs on our site are accurate as the owner of the hotels' brother is an Emmy award winning film producer and we know to keep the pictures real. The Garden rooms are just under 300 square feet and have limited storage in number 12 and 9. The closet should have 16 hangers at all times, along with our complimentary robes, umbrellas, laptop safe to mention a few in room amenities. The buildings in Key West are old as is the plumbing. We immediately addressed the plunger issue when you advised me. This is rare however in this case we left it in the room for your convenience as requested.

I am very surprised that you chose to write this review with the rating as I personally addressed every issue (tv, light bulbs and the plunger) personally. I am the General Manager of the Gardens Hotel and take pride as do all my team, in every aspect of our guest experience. What other hotel would have the GM address issues such as these? It should not be sad to ask for a plunger as it happens. Perhaps small luxury boutique award winning hotels are not the right fit for you. Key West offers many options very different from us. The reach, The Casa Marina to mention a few.

I was recently at the Gardens Hotel in Key West.
The place is simply out of this world.
Impeccable service. Excellent breakfast . All the little special attentions you like to get in a Hotel...they provide for you.
Don't change anything to the formula .
And the location is simply perfect .
Thank you to the staff and especially George at the front desk for making the guests feel unique and special.
