Amazing customer service! Was welcomed with a glass of champagne upon checkin! Very warm and friendly experience, beautiful B&B. They were very accommodating, and allowed our 7 lb. service dog to stay with us. The courtyard by the pool was gorgeous with fountains and coy ponds, a hammock, and birds all along little brick paved pathways. There was a wine room you could do tastings with a card that would charge it to your account. Continental breakfast was provided in the morning with various options, as well as a Nespresso machine and fresh coffee. The rooms were very large, included a shared balcony/patio, a mini fridge, a king sized bed, and felt very spacious with traditional Florida/Key West decor. Great place to go for a romantic getaway, and a perfect getaway for much needed relaxation time! Would definitely recommend.

As my wife said, "This was the perfect place to stay." The room was immaculate and well appointed. The grounds were gorgeous. Even though it is only a block off Duval Street it was cool and private. We enjoyed just sitting on our porch and letting the stress float away.

Key West obviously has a lot of lodging options, but if you are looking for that perfect romantic getaway, there is no better place to stay than the Gardens.

From the time my wife and I arrived to the time we left the Gardens, the staff treated us like we were the only ones there. From meeting us on the sidewalk when we arrived, to constantly getting our car out, to helping us in the awesome wine room, they served our every need.

Rooms were remarkably well maintained, constantly cleaned, and absolutely beautiful. All rooms are surrounded by the most beautiful tropical gardens we saw on the whole island. Even more spectacular than the Hemingway House!

Best of all this private retreat is in the heart of Key West just off of Duval St. This means you get the convenience of everything being just a short walk away, but you are far enough off of Duval to enjoy the peaceful tranquillity of this magical oasis.

The Gardens was the absolutely perfect place to stay as we celebrated our anniversary and we will certainly return.

Our family (four adults) occupied rooms #2 & #3. This allowed private veranda seating (second floor) to enjoy cocktails & coffee. The rooms are comfortable, well equipped, & clean.
The pool area and gardens are quiet & serene. The pool bar is well stocked. A very well stocked, self serve wine bar is available 24/7.
The breakfast fare is good & adequate.
If you have a late departure, you are invited to store your luggage in the office and use the pool area along with a delightful cabana with shower.

We will return

First and foremost, If you haven't been to Key West and are debating between staying at one of the larger beach resorts or a boutique hotel/inn, such as The Gardens Hotel, I would strongly encourage you to stay at a boutique establishment in Old Town. The Gardens especially does a great job capturing the charm and culture of Key West.

This property is gorgeous and the service is superb. The property is so peaceful that we spent a good amount of our trip just staying at the hotel and lounging by the pool. The hotel itself is located 1/2 block from the center of Duval, so you're literally in the middle of it all.

We stayed in the Carriage House, which is the room above the pool bar. The room was nicely decorated and very quiet, and the bed was perfect.

Where this hotel really stands out is the level of exceptional service. Brandon was phenomenal. He helped us secure bikes our first morning there. The hotel staff also did something nice to acknowledge our anniversary, which was greatly appreciated.

Though there's very little that we would change about our stay, there are a couple of things that management can improve upon:
-More effort should be put into the continental breakfast. The food lacked variety (both in amount of variety on any given day and variety between mornings) and, quite honestly, it wasn't very fresh. This is really a shame, because there are so many great breakfast establishments on the island, but we felt compelled to rough it at the hotel to take advantage of the fact that the breakfast is complimentary;
-The A/C in our room wasn't cutting it;
-We saw two cockroaches in our room during our stay (perhaps because we were directly above the pool bar);
-The room itself could use sprucing up (e.g., fresh paint, deep cleaning, etc.)

While these drawbacks might tick off some, the good outweighed the bad. Besides, I'm still in an island state of mind, in large part because of all the great things this property offered us during our visit to Key West.

Thank you everyone at The Gardens for helping make our anniversary trip truly special.

Thank you for spending your special day with us, we are honored. I must apologize that your room was not perfect. We strive for this. We do have regular visits each month to spray however we will increase that frequency as we should never have an unregistered visitor. We are always tweaking our breakfast to respond in a way that we have something for almost everyone. I welcome any suggestions that can improve!
