We had the pleasure of staying one night at this beautiful Bed and Breakfast. From the moment we arrived we loved the place. The staff is exceptional and we were treated to an amazing experience. Breakfast is a treat and Billy at the bar makes you feel like you are one of the family. This is our new home away from home and we will be returning again the end of this year for 5 days. I am so looking forward to it.

This hotel was recommended to me by a friend and found it to be a perfect place to R&R after touring around Key West. The setting is beautiful and quiet, close to Duval Street but away from all the noise. Everyone there, especially Jennifer and Joseph, were extremely helpful in suggesting activities and where to eat. The rooms were well appointed and beautiful. Nice breakfast in the morning and piano on weekends. Unfortunately, the safe was very small and could not hold cameras or ipads. Highly recommended!!!

We stayed at the Gardens Hotel for 5 nights. I selected this property based on the description of the setting and their attendtion to historic preservation. I found the accommodations met the expectations I garnered from their website and the reviews. If you are looking for a property that is modern and antiseptic, this property is not for you. If you are looking for a place to enjoy quiet, attention to detail. quirky character based on the fact that it is an historic property, you will love this place. I enjoyed the wine bar and the on site entertainment. They invite the pubic in to enjoy the grounds and the music. The management is very considerate of the guests. You have priority and the music is over at a decent hour so you don't feel like it is imposing on your personal stay. I would book it again if we ever come to Key West again. Great location, close to the action on Duval Street but far enough for quiety. Forget the car, you don't need one once you are there.

Room Tip: I recommend the garden rooms....they are quiet and overlook the garden! They are a little on the sma...

We stayed at the Gardens Hotel for 5 nights. The hotel and grounds are very beautiful, and you cannot beat the location. We enjoyed the gardens, especially the turtles. Unfortunately, we had rainy/cool weather (although much better than the 19 degrees we had at home), so we did not use the pool at all, but it is also very nice. The staff was friendly - Joseph at the front desk was very helpful, pointing out different places to eat/things to do. We ran into Alicia "Vice-President of Stuff" and absolutely loved her! Billy the bartender was great - he and my husband exchanged some fishing stories over a few good drinks! Kate was very helpful at checkout, and let us keep our bags in her office while we took one last stroll through town before heading to the airport. Complimentary breakfast was very good and the gentleman working it was very helpful. Only slightly negative thing for us was that most of the other guests were quite a bit older than us (we're mid/late 30's), so we didn't meet up with any couples our age to hang out with and have a couple drinks with. Overall we completely enjoyed our stay here. This was our first trip to Key West, but I'm sure we'll be back.

Room Tip: we liked room 8 - kind of secluded

Thank you for your recent review. We are glad you had a nice visit in Key West and a nice stay with us. We have found that our guests of all ages usually interact pretty well, I am sorry you did not at this visit but am very happy to hear you will return and perhaps then interact with some new guests and hopefully make new friends.

My husband and I made our , now annual , visit to The Gardens in Key West from February 19-26. We usually only spend 2/3 nights, but this year stayed at this wonderful oasis for a week. We were not disappointed ! From our first evening to our last we were treated to the relaxation and friendly service we have learned to expect at The Gardens. Billy, the most excellent bartender has mentioned in past visits his fishing excursions on the Gulf, and this year we took a day trip with him. We are not fishermen by any stretch, but the day on the water was one of the highlights of our stay in Key West. We did some fishing , some cruising , and Billy took us to an out island that was delightful, pristine and private, lunch and beverages provided. An excellent way to spend the day ! We look forward to our next visit to The Gardens next year , where Kate, Jim, Nancy and Billy always treat us like old friends .

My husband and have visited KW a few times a year for several years and have traveled extensively in the Caribbean. We have stayed at the Marquesa, La Mer and others here. Our room here was great which we expected from a resort of this caliber. However, we found some of the staff less than friendly, not ever responding to a good morning from my husband. Never once asked how we were enjoying our stay(5 nights)until we checked out. I found the breakfast lacking, with stale bagels and having to actually see that someone else got something before we found out it was available, even after calling on the phone provided. This may seem silly, but one of my main complaints was the level of the products in the bath, the toilet paper to be exact. It was cheap and fell apart(part of the green program??)The grounds and pool are great and clean, and the staff certainly tried to be helpful when asked to. Just didn't go that extra mile we have learned to expect from resorts of this price here and elsewhere. Somewhat disappointed in this property, and I usually love wherever we stay.

I am sorry to hear your stay was less than perfect. We strive to do our best every day and it seems you feel we dropped the ball and for that I apologize. Our buffett items are the made fresh daily from local bakeries and I have instructed my crew to ensure and double check for freshness and to be complete on the telephone when our specials are available. Our green program does not involve the quality of our toilet paper just how it is made and from sustainable resources. It is expensive and it looks like the quality of your roll fell short. I have instructed housekeeping too check all supplies for any inferior rolls that may have slipped in as we do not want or enjoy negative experiences wherever they may occur. We pride ourselves on our guest interactions and hope you will consider us again in the future.

Key West is one of our most favorite places to visit when we want to RELAX. Through the years we have stayed in numerous hotels and Inns but after we discovered The Gardens Hotel based upon the recommendation of a very picky friend, we were hooked. We love the beautiful setting in the midst of a private tropical garden with plenty of space to relax around the pool or in the gardens. The Gardens hotel's DeVine Wine Bar is great and we always enjoy "Jazz in the Gardens" if we happen to be there on a Sunday night. We usually go by the pool bar before we go out to dinner and Billy makes us a "Gardenia". You don't want to miss that!
