Been to the Rum Bar multiple times during the last couple years, and always a fine spirits tasting experience. The bar is small and intimate (occupant load of 38, plus front porch) and mostly patrons who appreciate the fine rums...along with other drinks. My first experience staying at the Speakeasy Inn was just a nice. Reasonably priced rooms with a lot of privacy as there are only 5 rooms. Comfortable bed, large flat screen TV, kitchenette (minus cooking surface/oven). If your looking for a bed & breakfast experience, a great place. Barbara and staff were very friendly and accomodating. Location is close to all that is Key West, with a little less crowd. Gratis continental breakfast from 8-10am in the quaint bar area. Barbara's banana bread is fantastic! Without a doubt will be back for the bar and the Inn, and will bring friends along for the ride.

After a terrible day of travel with Spirit Airlines this oasis saved our day. Barb was so nice on the phone that it was refreshing. They got us our room and a drink with a dollar discount. After we got in the room it was a cozy little nook far enough away from the Main Street that we heard no noise. But the best part is the cute little bar attached and the fact that you are right on Duvel street where everything is happening. Next time I'm in key west this will be my place! For these two CA kids it saved our trip.

We stayed here for a girl's weekend away and had a great time. The room was large, spotless, and comfortable. We had a mini kitchenette, a walk-in shower and full closet. Since one of us had to do a little work over the long weekend, I was happy to have free wifi too. We were a little worried initially that the Rum Bar would be too loud late at night but we did not hear a thing. The breakfast was great...arrive on your shedule to enjoy the better than standard continental fare along with some special touches like freshly baked banana bread. We took a tray from the breakfast bar to our room and enjoyed dining at the table and chairs outside our room. It was shaded, quiet and surrounded by foilage - really great way to enjoy breakfast! The staff, Barbara, Bobbi, Jill & Renee are the best. And that drink The Painkiller is somewhat addicting. I hope to return to Key West with my husband in a few months and am hopeful The Speakeasy has a room available for that trip!

Room Tip: Our room had 2 queen beds and was located on the R side of the building if you are facing from the f...

We did not stay here, but we stopped in for drinks a couple times. The bartender, Nick (a fellow Ohioan), was so damn friendly that I felt obliged to leave the Speakeasy a good review. I cannot speak for the rooms. The bar, however, is fantastic. Tons of good rum, some rare, some not, but all reasonably priced. I tried rums I've never heard of, and did a couple shots of obscure rums that Nick suggested. My girlfriend and I even loved the restaurants that Nick suggested. This was just a great little bar to stop into for cocktails before or after dinner. We are no doubt coming back to Key West sooner than later, and this place will, without question, be on the list of spots to return to. Do yourself two favors while here: first, order a house rum cocktail on the stiff side. Second, try a tiny snifter of the Diplomatico. You will not regret either!

We recently stayed at the SpeakEasy Inn in Key West and wanted to take the opportunity to recommend it to other travelers. Bobby and the team took very good care of us.

The rooms are very pretty and well appointed. The location is perfect. Close enough to the action and just far enough away for the noise not to bother.

There is a lovely pub downstairs and many good restaurants in the area. The southern most point is just a stone's throw away.

Breakfast was included in our stay too.

I would stay there again without hesitation. Thanks Bobby!

We stayed for 4 nights and loved it. We arrived before noon and check in was a breeze. The management and bartenders are absolutely great people. The room was even better than I expected based on the reviews I had read. It had a very large tub, and a shower. The bed was very comfortable, and the kitchenette area was perfect. We could bring back leftovers, place them in the fridge, and have a snack ready if we didn't feel like going out in the morning. It's on the quieter end of Duval and is a very short walk away from all the night life. I have read previously on reviews that people thought it was a little too far from everything on Duval but I tend to disagree because no matter where you want to go it's only a 5 or 10 minute walk down Duval. If that fails there are always Pedicabs and regular cabs available. We were very happy we stayed here, and everyone was great. The drinks at the bar are outstanding, and Bahama Bob definitely knows what he is doing. It was great to be able to just walk downstairs for a drink and get ideas of what we wanted to do for the night. The value, atmosphere, and hospitality make it one our favorite bars in Key West. We will definitely stay here again the next time we head through Key West.

I don't know what happened to my last review but I will repeat it. We stayed here 2 nights and loved every second. Barbara was fantastic, helpful and caring as was her whole staff. Our room was beyond clean. It is in a perfect location. The breakfast is delicious with real fresh fruit (not like the kind that says fresh fruit but has sugar added). We parked our car around the corner in their parking and just left it there for our whole visit. I cannot say enough good things about the Speakeasy.

The decor in these spacious and airy suites is tropical and features hand-crafted queen beds and tables made from original 1876 pine recovered from our recent renovation.
