Rented four one bedrooms in the cigar house. Amazing value. 220 a night each . Full kitchen. 3 of 4 unit with dishwasher. Right outside of pool area. Hammocks in each balcony or veranda. Very very friendly staff. Kid friendly we had both teens and preteens. Now have stayed in each of the three distinct buildings, The Main Building the Arch House, and the Cigar house. The cigar house is probably the nicest rooms and the most quiet, (although there is some variability in rooms within each building. Arch House rooms might front right on Eaton which is noisier that The main house which fronts on Williams which is a more quiet street. Staff very friendly, easy to get extra towels. Very close to schooner wharf. highly recommend!!!!!!!!

Just returned from a 5 night stay at ICH. We stayed in the main house. The bed was very comfortable which is always important. It was nice having a kitchen - we only used the fridge, but it was a great option if we wished to cook. Had a slight problem with the fridge leaking, but we reported it and it was quickly taken care of. Housekeeping keep the room spotless. Since the hotel no longer serves breakfast, they supplied instant oatmeal, breakfast bars, and a couple bags of pretzels. I

We used the pool almost everyday. Layout in the sun, then hop into the pool. We also used the widows walk on top of the main house - ver cool view of the city. Location was awesome. Just a few blocks from Duval and the Seaport. Would highly recommend to anyone from couples to families.

My family just completed a stay and loved it. We've been vacationing in Key West for 25 years but this was our first time staying at the West end of the island. We will stay there again. The hotel is a complex of several houses set back from the street. The houses are old but well remodeled, with plenty of outlets for well-wired families such as mine. We had a small kitchen, two large bedrooms and even a fold-out couch. Everything is extremely clean and well-maintained. My wife's favorite feature was the huge private porch that opened onto William St. I loved the pool which never seemed too crowded. The location is perfect. It's on the western end and close to all of the "tourist" things but far enough off of Duval Street to be away from the traffic and drunks.
If I had to come up with a complaint it would be that they need to boost the wireless signal. We could only get a very weak connection unless we went to the pool. Some parking would be nice but in Key West that's almost a fantasy. Just assume you will spend some time looking for parking on the day you arrive and try not to move the car again. All in all it was a great stay.

Room Tip: I would go for the rooms that face the street. The porches seem bigger and there are fewer mosquito...

Second time staying here, nothing less than I expected. Room was spotless, bed is comfy. Love having a full kitchen for when we wanted to heat up leftovers. Picture perfect property, so quaint and charming. Really enjoy staying places like this rather than chains or big hotels. Disappointing they had to stop serving breakfast from the cart in the garden, but that's something to do with regulation changes and their facility was not up to par for food according to new regulations. Hope they change in the future so they can serve breakfast again because that was very nice the first time we stayed here. It's great for couples and families (not a lot of family friendly places in the keys, but this one is). We'll be back again someday!

We stayed in the Arch house. We were 2 couples. This is a two bed room with kitchen on the 1st floor facing Eaton Street. Overall we LOVED the suite.

Kitchen: small but comfortable. The refrigerator was a bit small for us. Looked almost like a mini fridge that was full length. We live in Fort Lauderdale so we bring A LOT of food with us. However if you are not bringing a lot of food with you, this is great. It is well stocked with cooking and eating utensils. We cooked all our meals here and it was good.

Bathroom: nice size and the water pressure was good. Only thing is the bathroom is right off the kitchen.

Bedrooms: nice and ceiling fans worked great. Only thing we didn’t like is that one of the bedrooms in the far back can get a lot of noise from people coming in late at night walking through the arch. We were woken up a few times but it’s tolerable and I expected it. Bigger annoyance is if someone has a motor cycle that is parked under the arch and they start it or park it. It’s Very noisy.

Porch: this porch sits on Eaton Street. Eaton Street is very busy but we enjoyed it. It had two Adirondack chairs and a small table. We sat there every morning and during the day.

Pool: Wonderful. We travel to Key West at least 2 times a year and have stayed at various places. For Key West, this is a nice size pool. In Key West, the pools are not big. I was pleasantly surprised of how big it was. I was expecting something half the size. If you want a huge pool then stay at a resort. We were in this pool all the time. This pool is well laid out in that you can get lots of sun at this pool or you can sit in the shade. There is a bathroom right by the pool and an ice machine.

Walking to Duval was a breeze and nice. It’s dark walking at night but I felt safe. It’s about 3 blocks. We usually stay more at the other end of Duval towards the Southernmost. It was a nice change to be on this end.

Staff: Very pleasant. We called twice. Once was because we locked ourselves out and the other was because we ran out of propane for the BBQ grill. Which by the way, we noticed after the fact, there is a sign there tell you where the spare one is. They responded to us immediately. There was almost no wait time. I was impressed, especially since we called after-hours.

Price: This place is very reasonably priced for Key West. You will pay the same or more for a hotel room. This is not a hotel room. In hotels you just get a room. This is like an apartment.

We will definitely be staying at the Island City House again.

Room Tip: This unit does get a lot of noise from the street. It didn't bother us but if you are looking f...

We just came back from a 3 night stay at their Arch House which is a 2 bedroom 1 bath. It had a decent size kitchen with a big enough fridge to store our booze. My husband and two of our friends all slept very comfortably. The beds are sooo comfy and the couch pulls out into a full size sleeper. At 260/night, this was a steal! My best friend and her bf probably could have stayed here as well and the savings would have been even better. The place is very clean and has that beautiful Key West charm that I love. It's walking distance from Duval street and pretty much everything in general. We had a cute little porch with chairs to relax on and watch the passerby's. The breakfast in the morning is okay, no hot items though. Checkout was easy and the staff were very nice. I would definitely recommend this to big groups traveling together!

Room Tip: The rooms directly facing Eaton Street are nice.

Great location, close for walking to Duval, yet far enough away for quiet time.
Hammock on the balcony, amongst the beautiful trees, was perfect was to wind down after a day of playing tourist.
Parking can be a bit tricky as there is no on property parking.
