Was there January 2008, and searced for vacancy in Kew West. We ended up here, and that was our lucky day. What an atmosphere. Nice houses in colony style, clean, nice rooms, outdoor breakfast buffet, near everything.

My wife and I just spent 5 nights at the Island City House and enjoyed every minute. I highly recommend them. Location is perfect and staff is very helpful and caring. You cannot go wrong with this choice. We stayed in suite 20 (2nd floor) which has its own balcony with outdoor seating and overview of the gardens and pool.

Room Tip: Suite 20 with outdoor seating on private porch overlooking gardens and pool.

We spent four nights in the garden view studio from Dec 7-11 and found the Island City House to be very charming, very friendly and helpful, and in an outstanding location. Walking distance to Duvall Street and the Harbor Walk/Wharf, it is perfect for getting to restaurants, shops, snorkeling/scuba boats, and the trolley stop. Upon check-in, they gave us a list of favorite restaurants, and we tried many of them...they all lived up the the recommendations, so this was a helful tool for our stay. We needed to make an early flight, and the Island City House actually called a cab for us the day before our departure and set up our pick-up. Great service! Thank you, Island City House. If we visit Key West again, we will definitely stay here.

Room Tip: The garden studio in the Arch House was a great value and very nice (quaint.) For a bit more money...

My husband and I came down the day after Thanksgiving and spent 4 nights there. We got into Key West a little early but we were still able to check in. We had a 1 bedroom/1 bath with a kitchenette, living room and balcony that overlooked the street. The room was very cozy and clean. The staff is extremely friendly and helpful. Since this was our first visit to Key West, we had lots of questions and the staff was always helpful and informative. The hotel will also rents bikes, that are right there on the premise for $12/day. We thought this was very reasonable and found this to be the best way for us to get around the island. They also provide a continental breakfast every morning, but we always ended up going around the corner to a great place called Help Yourself. We highly recommend this hotel. It's a great location (3 blocks from Duval and 2 blocks from the Sea Port. We cannot wait to go back!

Stayed in island City House Thanksgiving week. Had a 1 bedroom garden efficiency in the Arch House - my new favorit place to stay :) Absolutely loved it. It was clean, private and close in proximity to all of our favorite watering holes. Everyone was extremely friendly and willing to make our stay perfect! (loved little Bert, too) Can't wait for a return trip

Room Tip: Had room 4 - 2nd floor overlooking the grounds. Had own private balcony - A/C unit was a little lou...

We just spent a great weekend at Island City House. From check-in to check-out, this hotel is one of Key West's best!! The rooms are very clean and updated while still maintaining the old Key West charm. Lush landscaping surrounds the entire property constantly reminding you that you are on a tropical island. The included continental breakfast with visits from Mr. Toes (one of the resident cats) was always delicious. A great staff runs this hotel. They even had our room ready for an unscheduled early arrival. The location is prime. A short walk to Duval, Old Town Harbor, Key West Express, etc. Would recommend this hotel to all who plan on visiting Key West. We will be back!!

Room Tip: 3rd floor of Island City House has unique view of the property and close to the sundeck!!

We have stayed at numerous places in Key West, including the Westin (then the Hilton) and B&B's. This was by far our favorite so far. It is close enough to Duvall and Front Street water but not right in the mayhem. You are a few blocks from the activity yet it seems like you are miles away. It is very private and tranquil. The staff were very helpful. The gardens are beautiful. We rented bikes and were able to go all over the island. We even used them to go to dinner one night. The staff highlighted good bike routes on a map for us. Great experience. We will return to this establishment.

Room Tip: Arch House garden view suite was quiet with a great view
