My wife and I and two friends enjoyed four great days and nights in Key West. Old Town Manor is very nice, and near Duval Street and all the destinations in Old Town. We didn't need to use or car, or even bicycles to get to everything. The staff and the food were excellent.

Room Tip: My wife and I stayed in the "Lime Tree Room". We've never had a bathroom with a lime...

We stayed in the Courtyard room with three adults and one dog and there was plenty of room and we were never on top of each other. The room is on the back of the property in the carriage house and is very quiet and private. We had our own table that we could use to relax outside and enjoy the breakfast.

I am not a person who generally stays in B&Bs but in Key West it is often the best alternative. Old Town Manor is the B&B for a person who doesn't like B&Bs. You can have as much or as little interaction with the staff and other guests as you like but do not feel forced into socializing.

The bathroom is newly remodeled, but the floor is buckled in places, and there was the occasional mosquito, but its the tropics, so that's to be expected.

The biggest downside to the room was the EXTREMELY loud wall air conditioner, but you get used to it - at least we did.

The location is really convenient to Duval Street and Mallory Square and the staff was friendly and accommodating at every turn.

Great, easy, and accepting place for pets.

Room Tip: Carriage house rooms have private entrances and outside space.

We love what these guests wrote: “Old Town Manor is the B&B for a person who doesn't like B&Bs.” We’re laughing, but we know what you mean. :)

While we appreciate more traditional bed and breakfasts and the social, home-like setting they have to offer, we understand many modern guests appreciate their privacy. We strive to give our guests the information, amenities and tools they need to make the most of their stay, while allowing enough space for our guests to experience a private vacation.

Thank you to these New York guests for this honest and constructive review! We value the comment on our Courtyard room’s air conditioner, and will address the feedback. We hope to see these guests and their adorable dog again soon!

We stayed in the limetree room and it indeed, had a giant lime tree stump in the bathroom as advertised. It's a bit awkward but we liked it. The bed was fine but squeaky and the room was big enough for us. I loved the privacy of the room, not having to walk near the others was great. The main downside was that you can't sleep in late. They start sweeping outside and giants seem to be moving furniture upstairs. That happened every morning (Thurs-Sunday stay). The location was worth it though. It's close to the middle of Duval street so not a far walk to get to the resort and close to get to all the bars without being right on the strip.

We had never stayed at a bed and breakfast before so we may have had high expectations for the breakfast portion. We went the first morning but skipped the next two. Bagels, mini pastries, some fruit and yogurt... typical of any continental hotel breakfast minus the hot foods. Cute setup though - the hidden bookcase to get to the kitchen was really great.

All in all, good price for the location, decent beds and nice people. Plenty of other places to eat and I suppose you should be up and out enjoying the weather in the morning.

We also opted for the cupcake proseco add-on which was a nice welcome for check in.

Room Tip: Opt for the lime tree for the private entrance but beware of upstairs noise

Thank you for providing us with a quality feedback given in this review.

These guests stayed in our famous Limetree room where there is a real, live Lime tree growing in the bathroom! This room was constructed around the old tree, and guests for decades have inscribed their mark in it.

Thank you for the compliments on the privacy of the room, value of the stay and friendliness of our staff. We’d like to point out that this couple complimented our bed, the same bed that was reviewed earlier in the week by our Toronto guest who had back problems. It goes to show how sensitive bedding is… and how difficult it is to find one set to please everyone. With that said, we plan to upgrade all beds in the near future.

This couple was surprised by our organic and all natural breakfast. We pride ourselves in serving fresh, delicious food. We do not have scrambled eggs, bacon, or pancakes. But we do provide freshly baked breads, bagels, fresh veggie cream cheese, quiche, pastries, sliced organic cucumbers and tomatoes, organic fruit, organic and free range hard boiled eggs, four types of sliced cheeses, Florida orange juice, and many more items. We are always brainstorming new and different menu items, and appreciate the feedback.

We sincerely apologize for waking these guests up with our daily groundskeeping. We understand rest is an important part of taking a great vacation. Had we known of this disturbance during their stay, the yard work would have been rescheduled immediately. We have used this review to train our groundskeepers on being aware of the surrounding guests’ sleeping schedules. Thanks for the constructive criticism.

Thank you to these guests who traveled all the way from Washington, D.C. to experience Key West and stay with us!

My husband and I traveled to Key West about 6 months ago for our honeymoon. After heavily researching Key West B&B's and hotels, The Old Town Manor seemed the best price and location. From the moment we arrived, we were not disappointed. We arrived very late at night, so parking passes and room keys were left for us, providing ease and convenience. The staff was very friendly but just distant enough for a "homey" feel. Breakfast was "light" but always fresh and tasty. We also loved coming back to the hotel for key lime cupcakes or cookies, available in the lobby every afternoon. This Inn is so close to everything, so we were able to return our rental car walk everywhere. AND, there is an excellent coffee/donut shop across the street that is to die for! We stayed in the Anniversary Room, which we loved. Traveling to Key West mid July was a great idea, as it is the off season, so less crowds and great weather. We are already talking about plans for an anniversary trip back and will definitely consider staying at the Old Town Manor again!

Room Tip: We loved that the Anniversary Room had a private balcony. It was also a very quiet side of the Inn.

Thank you to these honeymoon guests for sharing their summertime experience with us! We love to hear our guests’ memories of their stay. This couple reviewed 6 months after they had stayed with us, and remembered our friendly but not imposing staff, fresh breakfast, and prime location.

The coffee and doughnut shop we have to assume they are referring to is Glazed, which is just a block away. This unique shop makes fresh doughnuts daily, and they. are. incredible. One of the most popular is their bacon doughnut, though their flavors change with the seasons.

We look forward to welcoming these guests back to the Anniversary room to celebrate their first Anniversary!

We were very disappointed. The bed was very hard and low to the ground. I have occasional back problems, and the hard bed led to me waking up with back spasms in the middle of the night. The staff was apologetic and accommodating, and offered a featherbed topper for the mattress. Unfortunately, this would not have improved the bed enough to help my back, and we had to switch hotels.

Generally, we did not like the hotel. It was not as clean as I would like, probably because it is an older historic building which can never feel as clean as a modern building. Our room and the interior of the hotel felt a bit run down. We were also there on a very cold weekend. The room we had was not sufficiently insulated, and the blankets were very thin, so we woke up very cold. The staff brought us extra blankets and a space heater for our second night. However, we did not run our space heater over night because it is a fire hazard, so we woke up cold again the next night.

We would not stay again, and despite the kind staff, we regretted this booking.

“Uncomfortable Beds”
January 16, 2014

We thank this guest for sharing their recent experience in our Lime Tree room. We take all reviews, good and bad, very seriously and are using this specific review to better our future guest experiences.

As with the rest of the country, temperatures have been lower than usual in Key West this month. In our 128 year old home, we are bundled up and feeling cozy, supplying our guests with extra blankets and space heaters for the chilly nights. We appreciate this guest’s feedback regarding the colder-than-usual weather supplies that were provided and will re-think this procedure. Fortunately, we do not deal with this issue very often.

We regret our mattress was not accommodating to this guest. The majority of our guests find our hotel to be restful and wake up rejuvenated for breakfast in our gardens and a day in exciting Key West. Regardless, we understand it’s time do so some serious shopping for new beds, and are currently testing lots of different types of mattresses to find the best quality and type that our guests will most enjoy. We plan to replace every mattress in the Manor by the end of the year (and hopefully much sooner!).

We are relieved and humbled by the kind words toward our staff and regret there was nothing else we could have done to rectify this unfortunate situation. At check out, this guest said she preferred the Westin’s “heavenly” bed collection. She spent the rest of her stay, as far as we know, in the standardized resort setting of the Westin. We hope her back was feeling better in time to enjoy the rest of her stay in Key West.

Thanks again for this honest feedback!

My husband and I have visited Key West 12 times and we absolutely love it. We always stay in the old town portion of Key West and I just can't say enough positive things about the Old Town Manor and it's staff. The rooms are lovely, well decorated and perfectly clean. The staff is friendly and helpful. This was our second stay at this location and when we were married in KW last year, our entire family stayed at the manor. Everyone loved it. If you want to be close to Duval, yet in a quiet spot, this is perfect. We always prefer to stay in a locally owned spot versus a chain resort type of place and the Manor is a great example of why. They add all the perfect little touches. We were there for New Years this time and our stay was great. They were accommodating to our request to change rooms half way through our stay. Keep in mind there is nothing wrong with any of the rooms, we wanted to change so that we could figure out which one is our favorite for next time!!! We have stayed at multiple other locations on in Key West over the years. Don't hesitate...stay at this place.

Location? check. Character and design? check. Friendly, helpful staff? double check.
I had the best time here. It was simple to arrange my stay. Phone calls and messages are quickly answered. This is one of three properties managed by the same group, and all near each other-and all three had been recommended to me. In turn I would definitely send friends and family to any of them.
My room was clean and comfortably furnished. The housekeeping is excellent. The bed could use an eggcrate or foam cushion sometime soon, as I noticed some bumpy spots, but that is the only thing I could say needed help. Breakfast is a true treat, with fresh baked foods, organic teas, eggs and break and endless urns of coffee. The staff is always smiling. It is contagious. You will have a wonderful stay here, as a solo or couple traveling. The shared pool is very private and easy to get to.
