The crew was very friendly, and knowledgeable. Conch chowder and wine was good. Good value for the money. Wished they would of had diet soda on the boat.

“Great experience!”
Reviewed June 15, 2013

We took the sunset sail 2 nights in a row last weekend. We wanted to do the stargazer cruise but they didn't get enough people to make the trip. I don't understand why people wouldn't sign up for that because it sounds awesome to me. It still turned out great though because we had a terrific time on both of the sails we went on.

The schooner is so very cool. How many people do you know that have had the chance to sail on a historic working schooner? Most of the other sunset cruises are really just motoring around with a tiny bit of sail up for show. The Schooner Western Union sails for real with enormous sails that you get to help raise if you want! The captain will also let you have a turn at the helm. What?! You heard me. You get to sail that sucker.

There's also something about this ship that draws really cool people. We met a lot of super nice people (Hi Bob and Trudy!)

I didn't try the free conch chowder but everyone said it was very good. We did, however, cash in our coupon for free Key Lime pie which was excellent.

The captain and crew of this ship are very friendly and work very hard making sure you have a great time. We can't recommend it enough. Sail with them as often as you can during your trip because each time out is a little bit different. And don't forget to bring some cash because you are going to want to tip this crew.

“Great trip”
Reviewed June 15, 2013 via mobile

We sailed on the sunset trip on our last night in key west and it was simply wonderful. A beautiful vessel with a great a friendly crew who invite you to help with raising the sails. The sunsets viewed from the boat are breathtaking. If you pick a boat trip whilst in key west ( and there are many to choose from ) this is the best. You are also sailing on a historic ship which is the flagship of the state of florida. Plus this is a not for profit organisation so you are helping to preserve history. It's great value plus food and drinks are included in the price. You are sailing for a good two hours and it is simply the best time you will have
