The STKW hosts the widest spectrum of cultural activities in the Florida Keys. Workshops, music venues, readings and writing events.
Make sure you pick up a copy of their most attractive and informative catalog.

Come for a workshop, a lecture, a performance or an art show. Or just stroll through the sculpture garden. This is the heart of Key West's creative scene. And give a donation, this good work could not exist without generous donors to sustain it.

At first the Studios of Key West seems to be a friendly, open concept, all "are welcome attraction" to Key West. Enjoy the oddity of the surrounding and the wonderful painted van.
BEWARE if you are an artist who is interested in becoming a welcomed fellow creative soul. This studio does not have any room for new ventures for outsider and is very protective of its $$ patrons and local artists who make income from this group.
I made an appointment for a teaching position in a subject matter which local citizen's could get involved for a reasonable fee. The experience was a disaster, the director of programing rude, the studio's director was non committal and after asking for honest advise from a local artist Pam Hobbs in the subject, I felt like I was run out of town on a rail by the group.
Not returning an email- but assuming intent instead, really led to a sour experience.
So artists beware- enjoy what they offer from afar, but sending in a check for membership- this is not an art association you want to belong to! The negative energy is not comfortable in our sensitive make up.

Did the Walk on White and ended up in TSKW. I am an art lover and want to be supportive, but this place is highly over-rated. The artists couldn't have cared less about visitors and were more interested in talking amongst themselves. Felt like we were intruding when we had questions about the art.
