Reach Resort was great for just kicking back and relaxing. Hammocks on the palm trees, nice beach great pool and popcicles at 2PM. Also great being able to use sister resort. The $25.00 resort fee was not a problem, if that is what they want for free internet and a great friendly staff...no problem.

Spent 4 nights at The Reach recently. It is on the "quiet" end of Duval Street, and has a beautiful beachfront setting. Our oceanview room was clean, quiet, and very comfortable. The facilities are very nice: small but adequate pool with lounges, manicured lawn, well maintained buildings. I was disappointed in the service and offer as examples: at check-in, no bellman was seen and no offer of assistance with luggage. Tried to rent a bike for an early morning ride and was told I couldn't get one until the concierge arrived at 9:30 (how hard can it be to train a desk clerk to rent a bike?) Had a difficult time attracting attention of wait staff to order drinks at the pool. The staff is "friendly" but need to be tuned up on anticipating and meeting guest needs. At least, I'd expect that at a Waldorf Astoria.
I booked online at the property website, and was offered an ungrade option based on availability, to be determined at time of check-in. Although I had committed to the upgrade if available, I found it odd that the clerk didn't mention that when we checked in. Also, no mention of our Hilton Honors status and any perks that might have come with that.

We got married at this resort last weekend, and everything was wonderful! The rooms are great, our view from our balcony was outstanding! I will say that some of the ocean view rooms are blocked by palm trees though; we had to request a room change because of that. The location is convenient, only 1 block away from Duvall. However, it's at the opposite side of the bar scene on Duvall so it's pretty calm and quiet.
The hotel is slightly pricey, but it was nice and I'm very glad I chose it as my wedding location.

Stayed one night at the Reach in early April. Nice rooms and staff. Design of hotel a little quirky and takes some getting used to. At the quiet end of the island but still only a short walk to all the action. Picked it up for a relatively reasonable price on Hotwire.

Great location, the hotel was ok. not a Waldorf Astoria level so was expecting something a bit nicer. Small pool, only 1 restaurant and no other options for drinks or food/snacks. Pool table and activities right in midddle of restaurant and bar area with lots of area to expand so not sure why they crammed everything into a porch. The pool staff was great. DJ got us set up most everyday. Wait staff had to work pool/beach and restaurant did not make a lot of sense to do it that way. It resulted in a warm $15 mojito. You could always get a table at the restaurant so I think we were not alone in our assesment. Strip House "Easter" was good but the service made the evening spectacular,Luther was one of the best I have ever had he was oen of the highlights of the hotel. This property has lots of potential just missing some tlc.

Traveled for Spring Break getaway with two adults and two teenagers...much to see and experience on Duvall Street. Hotel had a good beach and great pool. Walking distance to all Key West attractions...Hemingway House, Butterfly Conservatory even could walk to Mallory Square for sunset celebration. Taxi service reasonably priced when needed. Hotel concierge extremely helpful and friendly. We will definitely return.

I stayed here with my mom and boyfriend for Christmas 2008. The hotel was beautiful, service was great, and having a beach in Key West was definitely nice. I found a special online, the room rates advertised on the hotel website seem somewhat overpriced for this place. I'd definitely do some research before booking directly with the hotel as room rates seem to vary wildly.

Also, they may have changed the descriptions but I booked a suite thinking that it had a separate sleeping area. Luckily, they let me add a second room at the same rate. The rooms are more like studios so book two if you don't want to have everyone sleeping right next to each other.
