I am a frequent traveler and stay at Hilton properties all over the US and had built up a lot of points over the past couple of years. My wife and family decided to take a trip to Key West and to help save cost we decided to use those points and stay at what we thought would be a great resort. what we found was a room with stains on the floor, ripped curtain on sliding door, mold in the shower and dresser and night stands that had great big scratches on them, making you think you were in a very low cost hotel. For the cost of the rooms I expected nothing but the best. the Staff and grounds were great but the room was horrible. If I could do this all over I would book a different hotel. We will never stay at this hotel again. I am writing to Hilton and including pictures.

My family of four which included two teenage daughters, 19 and 16 enjoyed 4 nights at The Reach. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay. We spent a lot of time away from the hotel doing excursions and we also didn't eat at the hotel. We did enjoy some afternoons at the beach and pool. We are Hilton Honors members and Grand Vacation Club Honors. We used points for two nights, two rooms and paid for two nights, to rooms. We were upgrade to the fourth floor, one room to a king size bedroom suite, ocean front and the other room a king size bedroom with sofa bed, partial ocean view.

Front desk service/Concierge/Doorman - Outstanding
Hotel area - needs some updating, some areas had cups or bags on the ground, but overall good. Elevators hot and smelly
Rooms - the suite was two rooms, decor very nice, huge balcony. View obstructed by huge Palm tree. The room was a handicap room and the shower was handheld with wall attachment. Not very great to use. Second room also very nice and shower much nicer than suite room.
Housekeeping - very good. Rooms were clean and nice turn down in evening with mints and water bottles. Also, dirty towels were taken out and new ones left
Pool - on the small side, but never seemed overcrowded
Beach - it was so nice to be able to walk into the water. It was beautiful. There are water activities to rent off beach. Beach service was great. We asked for chairs which were put out with two towels placed on them in the afternoon frozen washcloths which were heavenly. One particular staff member seemed a little annoyed when we asked for chairs and the same person second day seemed annoyed when I asked for the second towel. He said they were running low. I didn't think he needed to tell me that. But overall the beach people were great and friendly. Beach chair area in afternoon a little more litter with cups and guest garbage.
Bikes - rent the hotel bikes. Two days for $20. Well worth it getting around town
Location - Great, walking very close to Duval, by bike can get everywhere easily

Weren't to look at the sister hotel, Casa Marina. It is beautiful, stately where The Reach is more of a typical beach hotel. Casa Marina does not have easy front beach access and does have two slightly larger hotels but the hotel is much bigger. More unobstructed ocean view rooms. The Reach I would prefer because of beach front and it being smaller.

Great hotel, personable staff and very nice rooms!

Stayed at The Reach for one night, July 9. Great location, one block from Duval Street (although it is a 30-minute walk to Mallory Square on the opposite end of Duval.) Room was fine, staff friendly, valet parking guys were great. Ate dinner at the Strip Room in the hotel - not a dining room for kids. Food was just okay, service was good. This is our first time in Key West so it was hard to compare it to anything. The hotel had obviously been something else prior to a Waldorf so they have to work around the layout. Room was fine, pretty clean, a slight view of the ocean. Balcony was nice, roomy with two chairs and a small table. Pool area nice. Disclosure: I am a Hilton Diamond although we paid for this room at regular rates.

My husband and I celebrated our 20th anniversary by staying for a couple of nights at The Reach. The staff was fantastic from the moment we checked in. When we arrived there were balloons, chocolates and champagne in our room - very nice touch. Our room wasn't ready when we got there so we had lunch at the Strip House which was delicious (pulled pork and Cuban sandwiches). If you have a car you should be aware that self parking is $20.00 and valet is $25.00 (we thought that was a little expensive given what you are paying for the rooms). The pool is beautiful and the staff there is also fantastic (especially Patrick Ritter) - they will set up your chairs, they serve fruit in the morning and popsicles in the afternoon (another nice touch). There are a lot of families staying here so if you are looking for peace and quiet by the pool, this is not the place to stay. This hotel has a beach which is very rare for Key West hotels and it is just a beautiful setting. We loved every minute of our stay and thanks to the staff for making it such a wonderful experience.

My fiancé and stayed July 4th-July 9th. We truly loved the grounds, atmosphere and the location. Rooms were tidy, but there were blood stains on the chair in the room, so I just utilized the ottoman when needed. Personally, I think that this should be an adult only resort (like they have in the Caribbean) considering this is a high end resort in Key West, there were a lot of couples and most of us were annoyed with the kids in the beach and pool areas. As being a high end resort, there should be a complementary shuttle to and from the airport. I did not enjoy the cab rides at all.
Beware; the minimart at the hotel is rather expensive!
The only other complaint that we have is that in the late afternoon we would go back to our room to take a nap then get ready for dinner and the maids would knock and knock continuously for the turn down service which we did not want. We ended up going to the front desk to take us off the list, but the maids relentlessly knocked every afternoon. We just locked the inside lock, so they would get the clue when they opened the door lol. On the other hand, we always had enough towels!
We did not dine at the hotel or use our free drink vouchers as there are many good places to try, so we enjoyed Blue Heaven, Bananas Cafe, Old Towne Mexican Cafe, Willie T's (they serve food late night!) and for drinking we liked Rick's, Hogs Breath and The Bull.
Because of the spotless grounds and convenient location we will definitely be back to The Reach.

My husband and I came here for our anniversary... we were not disappointed! The staff was excellent, the room was modern with a great view. Big balcony (where we made a little bird friend who visited every day!) where we could sit and look over the water. Loved having the beach there with huge hammocks set up for us to relax in. Service on the beach included complementary popsicles which were a welcome relief. Private beach, access to the sister hotel's amenities. Great place!

There is nothing wrong with the Reach Resort. The rooms are a decent size, the view from our room was acceptable, the location is good (although not in the heart of old town) the pool is nice and the beach is great. All of this said, the dining experience, Strip House, is overpriced and not a fit for the hotel or the market, the "Waldorf" is a converted motel with exterior corridors and overall the hotel is pricey for what you get. Having been to Key West before, there are other options I would rather stay at before staying at the Reach, including the sister property, the Casa Marina and the neighboring property, the Southernmost Hotel.
