Casa Marina Key West, A Waldorf Astoria Resort
Ranked #41 of 51 Hotels in Key West
Reviewed October 28, 2013

I think I have been spoiled by other Waldorf properties. They are usually elite, 5 star hotels. This is a 4 star hotel, and I think that ranking is about right. But that is a little sad for a Waldorf, in my humble opinion.
The private beach is excellent. There is food and drink and activities and water sports available. While I would have preferred easier access to the water, the rocks near the shore really make that tough. Still, no complaints about the beach.
The room we had was small. It had a nice beach view, and a small little deck, but overall it seemed a bit cramped.
Location. It wasn't far to downtown, maybe a mile or so, but it is a bit more remote than many other locations in Key West.
Service was good, both on the beach and at the restaurants. I can't speak for value for money, as I was using points, but looking at the prices they seem a bit high for this place.
Overall a good place, though I think I might explore a bit more closer to downtown before staying here again.

We spent a long weekend at the Casa Marina during one of their busiest weekends of the year. Despite being at capacity, the staff was exceptionally friendly and attentive. From the beachfront attendants and bars to the front desk and housekeeping, everyone was pleasant and helpful. That alone made it a great stay but the hotel itself is a beautiful, majestic place. Although you can tell it's an historic building, it holds its age well. It looks and seems grand rather than aging. Would definitely go back. Exactly what we were looking for.

Room Tip: Stay in the main building for better views of the pool/ocean. 2nd floor rooms have wonderful, large...

Laura and I celebrated our 30th wedding anniversary at the Casa Marina in Key West October 14th through the 19th 2013.
The hotel was nice, the ocean view was great and the service people were fantastic. Laura and I spent our days relaxing on the beach sharing stories with Daniel who took great care of us. He made us feel special and was incredibly friendly and accommodating. Daniel made sure our lounge chairs and umbrella were ready each morning and like clock work brought us fruit at 10, a cocktail at 12, pop cycle at 2 and a frozen towel soaked in eucalyptus oil at 4 (all on the house or at least included with the room fee). We enjoyed watching pelicans feed on minnows just 30 feet in front of us, snorkeling along the resort docks and even catching fish off the pier. Pam at the dock store has reasonably price light fishing tackle and bait that you can use to catch the local fish and see them up close. Be careful of the snappers they can bite and are called snappers for a reason. We recommend renting bikes from Pam and using them for your transportation around the island. There is no need for a car or taxi unless it's raining. You'll save money and experience the island up close and personal.
Thanks to Mark for managing a great group service folks who really make you feel comfortable and at home in the keys.

Room Tip: If you can afford it, select a ocean side room.

What a classy resort..beautiful grounds , elegant service , within walking distance to Duval Street... really an ideal spot for a wedding, anniversary celebration or family vacation. Really liked that there were separate pools for children and adults. Service at the pool was excellent, too. Parking across the street was convenient, too. There appeared to be lots of planned activities for kiddies each afternoon on the schedule.. Firepits on the beach were a plus.

This was our 3rd stay at Casa Marina and we still love it. It started when we walked in the door and were greeted by Patrick at the front desk. It has been a couple years but he remembered us. The hospitality did not stop until we walked out 5 days later.
They upgraded us to an ocean view suite and it was spacious and comfortable. The view was spectacular.
One thing you need to remember about the beach is that all the sand is imported because the island is one huge rock and the shoreline is full of rocks making it very hard to walk in the ocean. If you do want to walk from the shoreline make sure to wear water shoes or dive boots. You can also walk to the end of a short pier to take a few steps down into an area that is very sandy.
The bar staff was really busy but we were able to get Drinks whenever we all wanted them. The pool guys were also very much on top of it. Austin found us chairs more than once.
Make sure to take the wave runner island tour with Barefoot Billy's. it was a blast.
Bottom line is we will be returning next time we come bock to Key West. Great location close enough to the action but far enough away where you can rest and recharge when you need it.

My wife and I were there from Oct 17 - Oct 20 to celebrate our 10 year anniversary. I am a HiltonHonors member and when we arrived at 1pm our room was ready. Great room with a view of the pool and beach area. The entire complex is just simply beautiful.

Everyone at the resort made our stay just perfect. My wife and I especially appreciated the pool and beach service employees. Daniel and Juan were just awesome and took the time to get to know us while we were there. They also gave me a great tip on a place to watch the sunset that is not nearly as crowded at Mallory Square. You can see that they both like their jobs and take pride in their work.

The spa services were fantastic. We got a 50 minute couples massage that was just perfect. Very convenient to have that there at the resort.

Also, must give some props to Barefoot Billy's. We did the Jet Ski tour of the island and absolutely LOVED it!! Our tour guide was very knowledgable about the island and the history and was a reallycool way to see the island. Bike rental was a breeze as well.

We will definitely be back again for another trip and plan to bring the kids with us next time. Lots of beach activities for them to do and the Scout About bracelet hunt would be a big hit for them. Thanks again for making our trip a time for us to just sit back and have no worries. We can't wait to come!

Sooo expensive, but well worth it. 3rd year there, Daniel and Adrian are fabulous at the beach/kids pool. Even without kids, sit there so they are your people! They will make your stay fantastic. Bring Daniel a rooster shirt if you find one on Duval.

The first night our bed was squeaky and sooo uncomfortable. Drew S at the front desk got us a new bed and had the frame adjusted! Stopped later to ask someone to put some WD40 on the bathroom door which was also squeaky. All of it was taken care of and our 2nd night was much more comfortable and quiet.

ps Get the refillable casa marina carafe at the bar at the beach!!!!! no one told us about it the first time, but Drew took care of us with that too!!

Really great customer service. RARE indeed to receive such great service these days.

Room Tip: the suites are the best!
