“A great piece of history!”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed December 15, 2012

We just toured the U.S. Coast Guard Cutter Ingham. Very well presented self-guided tour of the most decorated U.S. ship. Reasonably priced at $10 (with discounts for military) it was very worth the time and price. We got to see almost every place on board. A great history lesson. NOT handicapped accessible, though. We went as a couple, but it would be good for just about anyone, adults, teens, but I probably would not take small children as there are a lot of stairs up and down to the various decks.

“Every American should see this shp”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed December 14, 2012

I will own the fact from the outset that we are a military family, as well as history buffs. But besides that, everyone should come walk the decks and passageways of this ship. You can almost feel the thousands who worked on it to defend us. As the docent tells you, they literally walked off the ship when it was decommissioned. Papers, machinery, etc are still sitting out.

If your cruise stops in Key West, I would highly recommend it. The $10 admission is not even enough to cover the cost of keeping it open. It is a nice ten minute walk through a beautiful neighborhood to get there.

CRUISERS TIP: If you moored at the Navy pier, you need to walk back to the main square in town or to the front gate of the base to catch the shuttle.

If you have any interest in the Coast Guard and/or history of US ships in general, this is an AMAZING opportunity to board a ship and feel like you were there. Very cool!

There's lots to see on the self-guided tour of this retired Coast Guard cutter. You can walk through the entire ship and just feel the history.
