These guys are great, they went the extra yard or should I say 40 miles to put us on the Tuna, Mahi and barracuda. The boat was great with four comfortable fighting chairs and all the water and beer on the house. Cudos to Eric and Aaron, they worked their butts off all day to put us on the fish. Would definitely reccomend to everyone. Also the owner Paul is a great guy, he even gave us free coolies and a cooler bag to carry the fish in. All around great experience. Steve W

Three of us had booked a weekend of fishing in Key West. The first day was great, but we got a call at 645 am the next day that our captain for all day trip, had boat engine problem and he had to cancel. Scrambling, the only guide on boat charter row he could recommend was Captain Hook charers. Ironically two days before, after flying into Key West and visiting the docks, we spoke with Captain Blue. He and his first mate, Aron, were suppose to have the day off, but owner Paul, convinced them to go out. Leaving the dock around 845, the day at sea was super-productive. Just off-shore, fishing was poor, and knowing the three of us were seasoned fisherman who wanted meat in the cooler and big game, Blue decided to run the 30 or so miles to the "wall"-edge of the Continental shelf in ~2,000 feet of stunningly beautiful blue water. By the end of the day we had boated about ten good eating sized dolphin, or Mahi-Mahi, four skipjack tuna, a large barracuda and one 22 lb., 55" cow dolphin. Blue and Aron worked hard to please and we were quite pleased with how the back-up plan worked out. Only minor complaint was older boat which tends to list a bit too much in high seas. I would recommend highly, but take necessary preparations if you are prone to motion sickness. Thanks again for a wonderful day on the water and coming in on your days off guys!

My cousin and I booked a 6 hour split charter with Capt. Paul. Capt. Blue and Mate Aaron took us out. We told Paul that we wanted to go wreck fishing and he convinced us to try trolling deep water for the bigger fish. He told us if that fishing was not productive then we would go to the wrecks and bottom fish. After trolling for four hours and only catching (reeling in) one fish. We moved to a wreck. Once at the wreck only one rod was rigged up for the four people on the boat. Then we proceeded to watch mate Aaron go fishing. He would hook the fish then have someone sit in the chair put the rod in the rod holder and let them REEL the fish in. I asked Capt. Blue why there was only one rod and why mate Aaron was doing all the fishing? He told me multiple lines tangle and that you had to know how to fish the wrecks to catch fish. I felt like a little kid fishing for the first time. I didn't even touch the fishing rod until 5 hours into the trip. I have been ocean fishing many times and I understand that you don't always catch fish. But I have never experienced a boat that operated this way. To spend $200.00 each ($800.00 total) to watch the MATE fish all day was not the trip I was expecting. On the plus side the lunch was excellent ( an extra $15.00 charge). I have several other issues about how this trip was "sold" to us compared to what we actually experienced out there, but I think you get the picture! So if you are looking for a nice boat ride and have a great lunch with the possibility of REELING in some fish then this is a good trip. If you want to actually fish then you may want to look for another boat. Rich F

Our Trip with the Captain Hook proved to be better than we could have dreamed. Captain Paul Wachter was most accomodating and gave us the trip of a lifetime. He showed us the clear waters of 9 foot reef with sightings green seaturtles to catching dolphin on the drop. The couple we were with even surprised Captain Paul by renewing their vows at sunset. What a perfect Day. Thank You Paul for creating such special memories.

Thank Steve L
