We chartered the Blue Ice for a 4 hour Sunset Sail & Snorkel in June 2013. Our party was 4 adults (2 couples). It was a great experience from start to finish. John and Ron were our captain and crew and they worked seamlessly together to make our afternoon relaxing and enjoyable.
We left Key West harbor, hoisted the sails and steered a straight course for Sand Key. The weather was absolutely perfect. They tied up to a mooring ball at Sand Key and we bailed off the swim platform and snorkeled the warm clear waters for about an hour. Nice Spur and Groove reef formation with plenty of sea life.
We re-boarded the boat, rinsed off with freshwater shower on the stern and were welcomed with snacks of cheese, fruit, champagne and beer. All good!
We then turned loose from the mooring and set sail back to Key West for a great sunset.
We fish a lot and Ron emerged from the cabin with a spinning rod and a black/purple Stubby Bubbler. My wife caught a nice Spanish Mackerel on the ride back in. We released it to swim another day. Icing on the cake!
The crew timed the sunset just perfectly so we had unobstructed views as we re-entered Key West.
All in all this was a great way to spend the late afternoon/evening.
