Had a wonderful stay with another couple. My wife and I actually said "Wow" when we walked into our room.
Of course, after reading the bad reviews from the 3 gals that posted we checked to make sure nothing was broken. Everything was in good order so I guess it must have been an isolated incident.
Great location to Duval street.

Only negative I would say is that we had to go to front desk for extra towels but they were more than happy to bring a toilet plunger when we phoned down.. Go figure, but our whole stay was great and the front deal people were extremely nice to deal with!

Stay here, it's fabulous!
Our first time in the Keys and we booked this hotel for the review from here and it's location. And I'm so glad we did. After driving the very long way from Miami Beach to the very end of the keys, this hotel is a fabulous slice of heaven. It it placed on the main street into Key West around the corner from the famous cemetery. On parking in the hotels car park, your first view is of the mouthwatering pool that looks even more inviting when it's 90+ degrees. The guys at the reception are helpful and offer you local maps of the area and you can book any activity though them from water sports to day trips and excursions. We were given room 304 which was a queen room overlooking the pool. The rooms are beautifully decorated, very modern with the lovely feel of luxury. And I know that it sounds silly but the air conditioning works perfectly, as July in Key West is sweltering!
Duval street is the place to be and this is within 5 minutes walk of the hotel, there are almost too many restaurants to choose from and the shops along Duval Street are a mixed collection of tourist and boutique. At the end of Duval Street is Mallory Square where is the place to be at sunset, where even on a cloudy evening the sunset is breathtaking and you get to see the eccentric cat man who trains his cats to do tricks! Also visit Ernest Heminway's house which is full of six toed cats and then visit the six toed cat restaurant next door, both are lovely. And then walk back to the fab Silver Palms for a swim and chill around the pool in the sun!

Room Tip: Ask for a room facing the pool

The Silver Palms Inn was a very nice and clean place for us to stay. It was located a few blocks away from Duval St., so it was close enough to all the activities, but also far enough away from the action to give you a quiet night's sleep.

The room was spotless, comfortable and spacious. It felt like a little Caribbean getaway.

The pool was small, but clean, and the loungers were comfortable and clean.

The hotel breakfast was nothing special - mostly pastries, fruits, juices, and cereal - but a nice added bonus.

Overall, a very nice stay for its price point.

We stayed here over the 4th of July weekend, and when we arrived, after a 4 hour airport delay, and not until 1:30 am, we were greeted warmly, and helped promptly. I cannot say I had any bad experience here. The pool was very nice, our room was very spacious, the beds were comfortable, and the room service was good. Actually, our pillows in the second room were too flat for my preference, but the first room we stayed in they were fluffy and perfect.
Pieter, at the front desk, was super! We ended up staying an additional night at Silver Palms, as he offered us a great deal on a single bed room, if we stayed. We appreciated all their hospitality, but especially Pieter who helped us extend our stay, and took care of us when we checked-out making sure anything he could do to help, we received. Free wireless internet and breakfast were both included, but we didn't have the breakfast. It's only 6:30 am to 9:30 am...it just ended too early for this trip. It's location is several blocks off Duval, but by no means too far when walking! Just a nice way to see things away from Duval, Front St. & Whitehead...we found new restaurants on that side, we've never been to before. Very glad we stayed there this time.

Room Tip: Best rooms have a pool view, not sure the view on the standard room is all that great, but the rooms...

First time to stay at the Sliver Palms Inn and was not at all disappointed. Is a long walk to Duval St. but the hotel itself is only about 6 months old and rates are great. i did NOT experience any of the bad review situations on this place, in fact, just the opposite. The staff made every effort to accomodate whatever needs we had from calling taxis to recommending places. A shorter walk would be great to the center hub of things but taxi fare within Old Town KW is so cheap it is worth a few bucks to save the tired legs and feet after an all day walk. Also scooter rentals are only $35 for all day so definitely try this out. The Inn is spacious in room size, we booked a 2 Queen bed room and it was perfect. We only requested maid service for one day in a week stay and housekeeping was worried that we weren't being taken care of. (Now where else would you get that service??) But we just wanted privacy and didn't mind our bed not being made etc. Anytime we needed towels etc. they were more than happy to provide clean ones. The Inn offers a light breakfast of pastries, muffins, juices, coffee, every morning which was nice and filling. You can take to your room or eat at the pool. The ONLY con I would have is that they provide more than one ice machine for each floor which from where we were located was a distance away from the room. Other than that I will stay again when I go back to the Keys. They made our trip great.

Room Tip: If available a pool view is nice.

Silver Palms is exactly what you see on their website, beautiful! We stayed 2 nights and really enjoyed our stay. The rooms are good sized, clean & very comfortable bedding. Our room over looked the pool, which we actually made time to enjoy! My husband & I came to really just relax and enjoy quiet time. Most of the guests that we met at the pool seemed to be doing the same. A few reviews were negative regarding the distance to other areas we just walked to wherever we were going to end up for the evening and called a cab to get back, only $5 bucks at the most, less then most drinks. We have always stayed at another hotel in Key West and will now just use that one as our "backup". Our only complaint was that we left for breakfast early came back to relax by the pool and the maid never came to the room even though she saw us leave when she was outside the room next door. We were able to get clean towel later from another maid. The breakfast was your typical toast, cereal, danish etc. can't comment on quality as we didn't try it.
