Owner description: As the only air-service, we are by far the most exciting and convenient way to reach the Dry Tortugas, one of North America's most inaccessible National Parks. The Park lies in the blue-green waters of the Gulf of Mexico, 70 miles due west of Key West, FL. Low altitude sightseeing flight, great snorkeling, pristine beaches, tour Fort Jefferson & bird watching. Morning, Afternoon & full day tours.

This was a great experience. The seaplane takes off from the Key West airport but lands on the sea at the remote island of Dry Tortugas. The trip was great fun and we all had headsets so the pilot could provide a running commentary. Best seat for photographs was the rear seat on the right-hand side as that had a clear view with no wing struts in the way. Our pilot even let me sit in the co-pilot's seat up front for the return leg and that was a real treat.

A must do if you are in Key West. Book a seaplane adventure and fly out on first flight. You will pretty much have the island to yourself with the exception of a handful of campers and park rangers. The fort is impressive and there are a lot of great photo opportunities. Snorkeling is fantastic - the water crystal clear and warm. A definite for the bucket list....

We decided to take the plane to the Dry Tortugas, instead of the boat, since I get seasick, and it was a good decision. The flight is beautiful and short - and we had plenty of time to explore the fort and the island. Our flight was cancelled several days in a row, due to weather, so be prepared for that. But when we finally went the weather was perfect and we enjoyed walking the beaches. They recommend that you go early or late to avoid the boat crowd, but we were there when the boat was there and the island is big enough for all of us. We were also able to eat the lunch provided on the boat for a small charge so that was a plus. If you want to snorkel I'd suggest taking the full day trip so that you can do it in a relaxing way, but really 2.5 hours is plenty of time to see everything.

in January 2014 we were with friends at the Dry Tortugas.
Fantastic trip. Seaplane flight was amazing. People in the agency were professionals.
The pilot was friendly. We talked a lot of information. Useful information.
Definitely recommend this trip.
Reminder. It would be nice to be able to spend more time on the island .. More than 2.5 hours.
Beautiful place on earth. Great people. a great experience.
thank you

Took the seaplane instead of the ferry. One, I get seasick and was worried it would be choppy. Plus, although I wanted to both snorkel and tour the fort, I didn't want to be on the island for 4+ hours. The plane was quick, easy, smooth, and interesting. I even got to sit up in the cockpit. We had headphones that either played music or gave us information about our trip and destination.
The company provided a small cooler with 2 drinks/person and snorkel equipment. The 2+ hours was plenty of time to tour the fort, take lots of photos, and snorkel. If you want to laze on the beach and take a picnic lunch, you might want to choose the ferry tour instead.
