Owner description: As the only air-service, we are by far the most exciting and convenient way to reach the Dry Tortugas, one of North America's most inaccessible National Parks. The Park lies in the blue-green waters of the Gulf of Mexico, 70 miles due west of Key West, FL. Low altitude sightseeing flight, great snorkeling, pristine beaches, tour Fort Jefferson & bird watching. Morning, Afternoon & full day tours.

Took the seaplane instead of the ferry. One, I get seasick and was worried it would be choppy. Plus, although I wanted to both snorkel and tour the fort, I didn't want to be on the island for 4+ hours. The plane was quick, easy, smooth, and interesting. I even got to sit up in the cockpit. We had headphones that either played music or gave us information about our trip and destination.
The company provided a small cooler with 2 drinks/person and snorkel equipment. The 2+ hours was plenty of time to tour the fort, take lots of photos, and snorkel. If you want to laze on the beach and take a picnic lunch, you might want to choose the ferry tour instead.

This is a wonderful way to see fort Jefferson. The planes are well maintained, the tour informative, and the natural beauty and the fort was wonderful. Thank you for a wonderful Fay!

We got a warm welcome when we entered the building. Very kind people. The trip was wonderful with the guide whom told a lot about the scenery. I had a few special requests and they answered them spot on. So the engagement went perfect. Once again thanks a lot for this amazing day.

The staff is awesome and very professional. We were scheduled to fly on Dec 29 but the flight was timely cancelled due to weather and we were rescheduled for Jan 1, 2014. What a way to start the new year! The plane ride was fun and informative. Evan, the pilot, was wondeful. The fort is amazing. To think that it was built in the 1800s using over 16 million bricks is mind boggling. The architecture is incredible. Definitely worth the trip. KW Seaplane Adventures is the way to go unless you want to spend 5 hours of your day on a boat to get there.

A visit to the Dry Tortugas National Park was on our bucket list. My husband and I took a few days before our cruise to spend time in Key West and visit Fort Jefferson. We chose Key West Seaplane Adventures as we were in Key West just one day and the flight times worked best for us. The flight to Dry Tortugas was between 500-800 feet which allowed us to spot a sunken ship, sea life and Cuban refugee boats! Since the seaplane takes only 40 minutes and seats just 10 plus the pilot which meant we had the Fort practically to ourselves for two hours before the ferry arrived. Having Fort Jefferson to ourselves allowed for some great photos opportunities without "strangers". Seaplane Adventures provide free snorkeling gear which meant it was time for me to learn how to snorkel! It was a fairly windy day so we were shown the best/safest spot for snorkeling. Everyone at Key West Seaplane were exceptional! The advantages of flying and having Fort Jefferson almost to yourself far outweigh the additional cost over the ferry.
