My boyfriend and I did a full day trip to the Dry Tortugas with Seaplane Adventures. We met at 10 AM and returned about 6 PM. The price is steep, but absolutely worth it if you can afford it. We met at the airport and check-in was seamless. We signed a couple forms, paid the $5 each park fee and got our gear. They offer complimentary snorkel gear and coolers with sodas and water. We brought our own picnic lunch (Publix subs and chips). The snorkel gear isn't the best - the snorkels are very short and the mask floods. If you own snorkel gear already, you should bring it. After check-in we were able to quickly board the sea plane. The flight is amazing! We took a lot of beautiful pictures from the air. Through the headset you get a recorded tour pointing out the highlights and playing music. The flight time was about 35 minutes. Julie met us on the island when the sea plane landed. She offers an optional tour of the fort and a general overview of the island. It was rainy when we landed, so we did the tour with Julie and explored the fort. After the weather cleared up, we spent the afternoon snorkeling. The coral and fish are awesome! Definitely one of the best snorkel sites I've explored. My favorite part of the day was after 3PM when the ferry left. There were just a handful of people on the island. We felt like we were alone on a pristine, beautiful island! It was amazing. We loved the full day trip, but I think most people would have ample time with the half day trip. Definitely book the first or last trip of the day so you experience the island without the crowds the ferry brings.

We loved our trip to the Dry Tortugas with Key West Seaplane. Evan was an excellent tour guide and pilot. We left Key West at 2 pm and arrived at Fort Jefferson just as the ferry was leaving. We basically had the whole island to ourselves. The snorkeling was fantastic. We saw thousands of fish and tons of corral. The snorkel equipment provided by Key West Seaplane was high quality, and they provided a cooler full of water and soda to take with us on the island. If you bring your own beer, they will also provide coolers and ice for the beer. This was the highlight of Key West vacation.

Amazing views from the seaplane. Evan (the pilot) did a great job of narrating the trip. The water and beach at Dry Tortugas was unbelievable. Clear, blue water and clean beaches. This is a must do. It is worth every penny.

We thoroughly enjoyed the whole experience and felt the expense was well worth it. The pilot was very service oriented and pointed out shipwrecks, turtles, islands etc along the way. We arrived on Dry Tortuga at 8:30 - at least two hours ahead of the ferry crowd - and had the island to the 10 of us. Julie, the tour guide on Dry Tortuga was very good. The flights were a great thrill.
