First the positives, the cottage is cute, clean, renovated and bedrooms and bathroom are a nice size. We never had a bad meal, and our favorites were La Te Da's and Banana Cafe, Mangoes, Sunset bar and Grill.
(Bartender at Sloppy Joes on Thurs. (blond woman) was very rude, acted like customers were a bother. We left after 1 round of badly made drinks, plus she charged $2 for Club Soda! No other bar for the entire week did that! We'll never go there again!! )
The negatives are: if you want to sleep past 6am, this is not the place to rent. We were awoken EVERY morning between 5:30 and 6am due to the traffic, at the intersection of United and Duval St., which this house is located on. The trucks, cars, horns, people walking by sounded as if they were going through our bedroom. There is either no insulation in the walls or very, very little. Also, there is no designated living room, there is a couch pushed up against the wall in what should be the dining room. There were 4 of us and 2 had to sit in dining chairs rather than squeeze 4 people onto a mid size couch, and if you wanted to sit 4 people at the "dining table" you had to move the couch down the hall and pull the table out of the corner, which we never did. The coffee maker kept turning off before it was complete, so had to keep watch.
I think this cottage is over priced and the dining and living rooms are not large enough to accomadate 4 people.
Wi Fi was very poor.
Mattress in Front bedroom very uncomfortable, too soft, noisy when just turning over.
Do yourselves a favor and rent 1 block off Duval, it makes all the difference as far as noice level and you will still be in the midst of everything Key West has to offer.
