Description: An "only in Key West" restaurant, The Flaming Buoy Filet Co. makes a statement on the hushed stage of a residential neighborhood. It is one part retro supper club, one part sassy corner bistro, and one part highly personal whim. Fred Isch, self-proclaimed Air Force Brat, grew up in every geographic segment of the country with a mother who loved cooking and collecting recipes. His partner, Scot Forste, grew up on the farm where his mother, bored of city life, spontaneously relocated to get back to the land, breed horses, and grow fresh, healthy food. Every recipe on the Flaming Buoy menu is an interpretation of something Fred or Scot ate at their respective family tables. Local additions, like seafood, tropical fruits, and Cuban flavors reinterpret the nostalgia, and the result grabbed the attention of the New York Times in 2011. Whether from a porch seat next to pots of herbs, or inside a white dining room accented in orange, dining the Flaming Buoy way is delicious and fun.

“Still the best meal on the island”
Reviewed September 28, 2013

I've been here each time I've traveled to Key West--the first time not long after Flaming Buoy opened. The food is still amazing and the service is still friendly and outstanding. They even remembered us! The lobster Thermidor was a special treat; if it's still offered as a special-try it! My filet was cooked perfectly and just as delicious, if not more so, than any fancy steak house found in Philadelphia.

“Nice little gem”
Reviewed September 24, 2013 via mobile

Romantic setting in a tiny little restaurant (8-10 tables). Lobster Mac and cheese was the best we ever tasted. The broccoli cake that comes with most meals was delicious. Fish dishes were excellent. We will definitely come back.

“Great food and more.”
Reviewed September 23, 2013

A small restaurant in a residential neighborhood. The place is sort of retro and the food was outstanding. Our server was one of the partners and he was really helpful and so funny. We had a great meal and a really great time.

“Hidden gem- best food and atmosphere in Key West!”
Reviewed September 10, 2013

We came here on a recommendation of a friend who comes here every year for his anniversary. We had the appetizer trio, the fresh catch with Lime butter sauce and even though we didn't have room, the chocolate chocolate chip waffle. All the dishes were amazing and The atmosphere is very romantic! We are going back there tomorrow for our last dinner in Key West!
