Description: An "only in Key West" restaurant, The Flaming Buoy Filet Co. makes a statement on the hushed stage of a residential neighborhood. It is one part retro supper club, one part sassy corner bistro, and one part highly personal whim. Fred Isch, self-proclaimed Air Force Brat, grew up in every geographic segment of the country with a mother who loved cooking and collecting recipes. His partner, Scot Forste, grew up on the farm where his mother, bored of city life, spontaneously relocated to get back to the land, breed horses, and grow fresh, healthy food. Every recipe on the Flaming Buoy menu is an interpretation of something Fred or Scot ate at their respective family tables. Local additions, like seafood, tropical fruits, and Cuban flavors reinterpret the nostalgia, and the result grabbed the attention of the New York Times in 2011. Whether from a porch seat next to pots of herbs, or inside a white dining room accented in orange, dining the Flaming Buoy way is delicious and fun.

Please! Just go here! You will not regret it! My god, what a place! Me and my boyfriend went here, we ordered the Bites menu and a different glass of wine for each course and from the moment the first course was placed on the table we were almost crying with joy. Excellent food, great wine, great service, affordable and this all takes place in a little, white treehouse a couple of blocks from Duval Street.
Go. Please! You won´t be sorry!!

We were eating the catch of the day and didn't regret it at all. The food was pretty good, the service very friendly and helpful.

We had a shared starter plate and a main course each. The restaurant isn't cheap, but not too expensive. We highly recommend a visit and of course the catch of the day! :-)

We had no reservation on Tuesday evening and had bar seats but it didn't bother us at all. The place is in very quite part of Key West, has maybe 10 tables inside. Very good atmosphere, no disturbing noise or too loud musoc. Our server Brian was amazing, excellent service for the first working day! We don't eat much, so we took only Bite menu and we shared it, for us it was enough. Tastes are great, lot of flavour, very fresh and delicious food! Reccommend it!

We have been visiting Key West once or twice a year for over 30 years. While having a marvelous Key Lime Martini at our favorite KW bar, The White Tarpon I asked our bartender, Emily who had lived on the island for years what was her favorite restaurant. She said the food at The Flaming Buoy was truly outstanding. We went ahead and made a reservation that evening. The restaurant is off the beaten track around Old Town but we had no trouble finding it.
It is a smallish place. I had a one of the evening's specials which was generous portion of seared ahi tuna with mashed potatoes, grilled sweet corn on the cob, ginger glazed carrots and a savory broccoli cake*) Great! My wife had another one of the specials which was Pan-Seared Hogfish with Banana Salsa over the same as the tuna) Hogfish was in season and I would have ordered it, but I had already had it twice that weekend. Our waiter was co-owner, Scot, had he was very entertaining and gracious.

We will certainly be back every time we are in town.
