“Wonderful accomodations!”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed April 17, 2010

We stayed at the Tropical Inn late Feb-early March, and are already making plans to come back in 2 years. The inn was in a perfect location, up just enough on Duval St. to be quiet, but close enough to be convenient to anywhere. We stayed in the Banyantree Suite, on the backside (not streetside) of the main house, so it was always quiet. Our room was very spacious (it had an extra sitting room which was perfect for keeping our luggage out of the main bedroom). The room was extremely clean, and the bed was the most comfortable bed my husband says he has ever slept on! The breakfasts were FABULOUS!! Good variety of items, fresh, and served at a convenient time (8:30 - not too early). Brandi was wonderful at getting us same-day reservations to 2 restaurants (7 Fish and Santiago's Bodega) that I'm sure we would not have gotten into on our own. (Thanks!! They were wonderful recommendations!)
The jaccuzzi was wonderful after a long day of shopping, snorkeling, biking, and eating! Just a word of caution - we went down one night about 10:00 to relax and there was a nude couple in the hot tub. Okay, a little surprising, but this IS Key West, so not a big deal. The only thing was when they left, they went out through the gate, into the neighborhood. I don't think they were paying guests at the inn!! (Maybe the fence needs a better lock!)
All in all, we had a wonderful time and can't wait to go back. We are trying to get a big enough group of friends to be able to rent out most of the inn ourselves.
BTW, if you go, renting bikes is the BEST way to see Key West. EXTREMELY easy to bike around, even if you haven't biked in years (or all winter!) Plus, you get a discount from the inn if you rent your bikes from the place right across the street. What could be more convenient?
OH!!!! And DON'T miss the sunset celebration every night at the pier! It's always changing and always beautiful!

We picked this Inn out of the many beautiful Key West B&B's for the immediate feeling of being welcome we had when calling to check availability and rates. Even in in the very heart of busy Duval St, we were in a secret and luscious place: the Jacuzzi corner was close to perfection, the staff is very friendly and helpful but totally unobtrusive and rooms are lovely. Recommended stay.

From the planning stage to departure, Jane, Allen and Brandi were amazing. Jane found my wives favorite wine for me and had 3 bottles sitting on the counter of our Gecko Cottage the minute we walked in and our Wind & Wine cruise reserved! It was the best 3 night 4 day vacation I have had to date for a host of reasons not in any particular order of priority. 1. The room was perfect. 2. The shower head was the size of a dinner plate. 3. His & her sinks. 4. The colors made you relax. 5. The private patio and lagoon made the extra expense more than worth it. 6. The garden is so serene I could have stayed there another week and just relaxed. 7. Step out the door and your on Duval street. 8. Almost completely insulated from the outside once inside. 9. Breakfast was just right and Janes Special Keish was not even fair! grin 10. Jane, Brandi and Allen. 11. Comfort, total serenity. 12. Any small issues that arose were quickly addressed.
We will be back! Thank you all for a special weekend for Connie and I.

My wife and I, along with friends, stayed here the end of March 2010 and I couldn't of asked for a better location. The center of Duval St is right out the front door with the crazy party scene to your left or a more refined, mellow but no less interesting scene to your right. But don't be afraid of the party, once you enter the front door and wander the backyard gardens you'll forget that the craziness of Duval is even there. The pool and large in ground jacuzzi spa are fantastic. We would wander the streets after a filling breakfast that was provided and come back after lunch for a swim and soak in the spa, have some cocktails and head to the beach at Ft. Zachary Taylor or further explore the town.
The owners were great and answered any questions helping us find some hidden treasures.
Will be sure to return!

This was our second trip to Key West and our second stay at the Tropical Inn. Wouldn't want to stay anywere else (perfect location). From the second we arrived to the second we left, everything was delightful.

Our first trip to KW was by ourselves for New Years in 2006 to celebrate our anniversary. We stayed in the Tuckaway, the room was exceptional, bed was fluffy and welcoming after the fun new year's festivities. This trip we joined friends and stayed in the Conch Cottage off the street and hidden near the pool/hottub. Our friends chose to stay in the Main house and enjoyed sitting out on the second floor balcony overlooking Duval.

Jane welcomed us, gave us a grand tour, and answered all our questions, it felt as if we were at home. We all loved the location, rooms were clean, beds comfortable, breakfasts sinfully delicious, and hot tub devine. And, we enjoyed talking to all the guests. What a delightful vacation....can't wait to get back to our little private hideaway.

Everything was great from the friendly check-in to accommodations. Loved the private patio with in-ground jacuzzi. Owners were friendly and the biscuits with the grits/sausage casserole were delicious! Good thing that wasn't served every morning, else I'd left much heavier! Thank you!
