I live in Tampa and planned a "Girls Getaway" for my best friend from California. At the last moment, my friend had a family emergency. The Staff at the Seascape Tropical Inn seamlessly allowed me to bring my husband instead for a quick overnight trip. We took the Key West Express Shuttle from Ft. Myers to Key West. The Seascape was conveniently located near everything we wanted to do. Once behind its doors, you feel like you've arrived at a luxury resort. Our Room (#2) was delightful with one large bed and a smaller twin one (after all, it was supposed to be a Girls Getaway). We especially loved the secluded pool and patio and made a new friend with the resident tiger tabby cat. He was quite the Host with welcoming leg rubs and purrs! Being cat lovers, a trip to Key West wouldn't be complete without stopping by the Hemmingway House which was literally steps away from the Seascape. Nothing but good things to say about this Bed & Breakfast. Everything was purr-fect!

We were very lucky to find this little gem to spend our 2 days in the Keys, central for everywhere. Room was clean and comfortable (#4), fabulous breakfast of fresh pastries and bagels washed down with a mimosa, great way to start the day. Staff all very friendly and helpful. I count the days until I can return to the Keys and will defenitely look to stay here again.

We enjoyed our stay at Seascape! The location is quite central. Rooms were quiet--which was great for sleeping. Our room was perhaps the smallest, but very clean, comfortable beds as well.

Staff really friendly and helpful. Awesome spread for breakfast including fresh croissants and bagels from local bakeries.

We loved its central location--just off Duvall--perfect for walking in any direction.

Pool isn't big enough for swimming but great for soaking after a long day of walking!

Room Tip: Our room (#3) was perhaps the smallest and the only drawback was that there was no chair to sit on...

First time staying in a B&B,was a positive experience. We were in the king room upstairs with a huge deck. Ate our breakfast out there every morning!(like how mimosas were served w/breakfast (except our last day they ran out of champagne:( )) Very quiet and relaxing! We had clean towels along with our bed being made every day. Staff was very friendly. Very convenient that we could rent bikes right there. Awesome location too, right off Duval St. Only thing we didn't like was how small the shower was, neither of us are large either. Wish the pool/spa was a little bigger too. Very secure and safe. Would definitely stay here again!

That's a lovely way to start the day! We're thrilled that you enjoyed breakfast on the deck every morning, and that our team made you feel at home. We're sorry we ran out of champagne, though! Still, it's great to hear that you had such a relaxing getaway, Patrice, and we hope to welcome you back next time you need a little sunshine. Til then, thanks for the fabulous review!

I think we really lucked out on this one! You can't beat the location. Clean, comfortable room, we were on the first floor just off the front door and had the porch all to ourselves. The shower stall was really small (and I'm not a very large person) but that was my only complaint. Cozy back yard and garden with jacuzzi/mini pool to relax in. People upstairs were heavy walkers but otherwise a nice quiet B&B, you can walk to everything, good amenities, loved the owner. Breakfast included. If you get there after 6PM you need a code to get in as the staff leaves. Will definitely stay there next time. Mario the house cat added to the experience!

Breakfast, a cute garden and a great spot to relax—that's our idea of a Key West vacation! Glad you felt at home with us, Elaine, and we'd love to have you back soon. Until next time, thanks for the wonderful review. We know Mario will be happy to see you when you're back in town!

Very comfortable and clean operation with competitive rates. Friendly owner and staff. Free pick-up and delivery from ferry terminal. Solid breakfast. Perfectly located with Hemmingway Home at one corner of the block and classic Irish pub on the other one. We use B&B's all the time... this is one of the good ones.

Booked the Seascape based on generally very positive reviews and ratings. We had to double-check Tripadvisor to ensure we were actually in the same hotel as our experience in no way aligned with most reviews.

The room: horrible, rancid smell emanating from the dresser (I went to put clothing in the dresser and just about threw up); room is small with no space even for a chair; tiny washroom, barely room to turn around; black mold on grout in shower area and on bottom of shower curtail; it took 2 and a half minutes for hot water to reach the sink with the tap full on (couldn't believe it....so I timed it). Air conditioner was located over the bed and sounded like a jet engine. Only saving grace of noisy aircon was that it drowned out the late night competing music from the Irish Pub and from garden parties at the nearby Hemingway House.

TV remote only worked if you held it within 2 feet of the vintage television.

The "heated pool/spa" is basically a large hot tub. Those expecting to "swim" in a pool should look elsewhere.

Breakfast was average.... continental. Breakfast tables could stand a wipe down once in a while.

Staff was indifferent at best. No "hellos" or "welcome" when we arriving. No offer of town info or map (had to ask); When we asked for recommendation of good seafood restaurant the response was: "down by the harbour there are lots of seafood restaurants". Thanks for that!

Positives: Well, the bed was comfortable. Very close to Duval Street.

Overall, not a very enjoyable experience. For 1/3rd the price this B&B might be "okay". For the price, there must be far better B&Bs in Key West.

We're very sorry to learn of your disappointment. Making our guests feel welcome is one of our greatest joys, and as such the indifference you described is completely out of character for us, as is the state of your room. We wish we could have moved you to a different suite during your visit, but we still want to make this right for you. If you'd like to discuss this further, please don't hesitate to reach out. Until then, thank you for taking the time to voice your concerns. Your words will only make us better.
